My fondest memories are of netplay over TCP/IP on AvP1 ... fucking awesome! I always played as Xeno, naturally, and my mate was Pred - but goddamn that Pred "plasma pistol" was overpowered. Single shot; death.

My hopes for AvP3 have been well and truly dashed now - but Rebellion might be able to salvage something if they get the Xeno campaign/MP right!

The marines were also too overpowered in AVP2. They had some crazy weapons now. In AVP1, it was just so tense with the pulse rifle and the motion detector, and the darkness. "Tup... tup... tup tup tup tup tup tup tup... *Aliens screaming insanely*... *death Sad*" Laughing

AvP2 brought a lot of nice touches to the game, as well as better graphics, but I don't think anyone would disagree that the best OVERALL game was AvP1 Very Happy

True, but I didn't give a fuck, cause it was overpowered in the movies as well, haha !

From the videos it seems that the game is console-turd exclusive and the guy/dev playing it is the archetype of the target group. And if the Aliens were slower, they'd be statues. (I guess most gamepad turds are having a hard time hitting stuff, like the dev himself)

The only cool thing was the trophy kills, but it got old already Laughing

Also, the HUD sucks, it's like they slap some useless lines on your screen ...

Had high hopes for this one after the trailer, but yeah, judging by the gameplay it's definitely been 'consolized'. Too bad. Can imagine how scary AvP1 would have been with the latest and greatest graphics.

Imagine AVP1 with these slow xenomorphs lmao. Or the movies. You can practically play entire game of Texas Holdem and still wait for them to come. Very Happy

it got old after the second kill, and it seemed like the predator had the same animation for killing aliens too Neutral

game still looks cool to me, though.

Wow, how disappointing. Damn consoles ruining FPS gaming! They need to have 2 devs working on this. 1 for consoles and 1 for PC. Uhhhggg, they will never understand that. AVP1 was an awesome scary thrill ride! The MP was insane especially on the Bunker map! RACE to the bunker and get ready! They would come out of the walls and every where else! PREDALIEN BOOM! We played the game for months it was so good! Oh well, thanks for the awesome AVP1 memories AVP3! LOL!

I'm kind disappointed too: I didn't like the "feeling" with gameplay, a little bit stylized; didn't like the color palette and the (lack of) animations. There are still lot of pros, one of those is clearly the game concept...I only hope the devs will work hard Rolling Eyes

Dont get your hopes up. Experience has told us that the changes from "beta demo" to RC arnt that high. Usually its minor map changes and so on, not really anything like an complete engine renewal or gameplay mechanic-changes.

Thats why that demo was so anti-hype.

One thing I was dissapointed to see with the pred gameplay mechanics was that jump Icon thing, where the player has to choose where to jump too with a big red glowing thingy. I think it will make the gameplay feel disjointed and less fluid. I would have much preferred it if it was like the nano suit in Crysis, time will tell though.

what the hell was so good with the avp1 ADHD aliens?
they work just as well when slower, if the architecture is planned out properly
