Textbook torrents are a life saver! I was about to purchase a $180 physics textbook today and then I thought maybe I can find it online and sure as heck I did!!!

I had a few Biology texts in uni that were that much :/
school bookstores are the worst, you can usually find that shit elsewhere for 20-30% cheaper, if not more. then when you try to sell it back to them at the end of the year they offer you fucking peanuts for it then end up selling it for not that much less than the price of a new text.

I agree the prices on some textbooks are pretty ridiculous. Here is the book:

It was either download it or go to the library and photocopy every single page from this book because there was no way I was going to pay that much unless I had no other option. But the problem with the library one was, there were many pages missing from some of the chapters.
& I needed this book tonight so I couldn't just order it from ebay or anything. I already photocopied chapters 1 and 2 from the library but the pages from chapter 3 were missing. But now I don't need them lol since I have the entire book on my PC as a PDF file. Thankgod I didn't just go ahead and buy it

Here in Cro, Feynman Lectures on physics all three books in nice wrapping costs about 150€

I usually buy my books since i'm a big fan of writing notes in them. Also I hate having to read alot on a computer. I agree alot of the times the books a way overpriced especially bloated american textbooks.

btw timechange you have tons of books on WBB, you just need rapidhare acc. And I hink there is this torrent going around that has lik 5GB of physics books...

I prefer regular version of textbooks, i hate reading from computer screen for couple of hours, me being with glasses makes my eyes are aching
http://www.gettextbooks.com/ is the place where I get my hard copy text books, i bought my english book doe $6 while school bookstore had it for like $80 used copy
I think as having buying book from school bookstore is like second largest mafia organization, next to the oil

Il definitely look into rapidshare.
Im posting a flyer right outside of my physics lecture hall tommorow stating that I will give a copy of the textbook to anyone for only $20. Il put my phone number on it and then after they call I will tell them the only catch is that it's in PDF format. We'll see what happens

Or maybe i should meet them in person and THEN tell them the whole PDF format thingy. Il get a sense of who they are. Maybe have lunch with them first lol
But yes I should go with e-mail address first. Il create an alias e-mail account so they cant find me on facebook  I think any student would be grateful for saving over a hundred bucks on a textbook that they will use for a short period of time.

The PDF file is 280mb so I can't just attach it to an e-mail. And also, I have no friends in this class. Why give away free stuff to strangers? But then again if I give them away for free, maybe they might become my friend lol but I need the money! Such a dilemma.

giving away for a fee might get the school involved. and it's copywritten text so it might get the publishers involved. which might also get you expelled from school. giving away for free is not a problem at all. even w/ secret ident so no one knows who you are. then you're safe from everything. trust me. piracy in america... its the last thing you want to be doing.

Lol alright fine fuckit Il try to give it away for free. This idea will have a more interesting outcome. A lot of people already bought the book though hopefully they can return it back to the bookstore and get their money back.
Il see what I can do tommorow. NO FLYERS! I will talk to people in person and get to know em first. And then bam hook them up with a free textbook. I better get good karma for this

Wouldn't posting flyers with links to illegal stuff get me in trouble? lol plus it took over 12 hours to download this small 280mb file due to the lack of seeders.

I cant post flyers that says I have free copy of the textbook. School staff might get suspicious. Also the torrent came with the solutions manual so it has all the answers to our homework questions
I will offer the book only to people (most preferably girls) sitting around me lol
PS. Im not gonna go the extra length to give this book away for free. It takes times and effort to make and print flyers.

man i print so much stuff from school library is just retarded, i remember printing back like 60 pages of faq for chrono trigger for ds lite..also some teachers require to bring books to class while most of the people do not even have laptops

At what capacity is this physics textbook? University?
Cause the chapters, except for Fluids and Temperature and Kinetic Theory, look like what I just finished in my physics class. And I'm retaking high school physics
