Odd just take a look at theyre forum mate lol, its disgusting lol what there is of it and the problems.. It does not really inspire people to buy from them you know Very Happy

Annoying though I really want to check out the changes on this one. I know from playing arma 1 alot that the patches they did improved stuff all the time. If metaboli wasnt so into ripping people off with such high prices but still thats digital for you lol.

I never really checked thier forum before now and will be sure to keep it in mind for future reference to see what issues peeps have had with them. But so far I have had a good experience with them all round, guess I was just one of the lucky ones

Say, is it normal not to have any waypoints? They're on the map but I have no HUD markers like OFP/ArmA.
Also when my squad leader tells me to target someone that someone doesn't appear on my HUD so I have no idea where he is. Sad

they're there

Colour me unimpressed.

Seemed too arcade:ish for my taste, and those graphics reminded me of BF2 in a bad way.

The narrator said (not in the videos, haven't watched them):

"I've been hit in in the head, it's nothing serious, but I'm bleeding." Realism, yo!

What kills ARMA 2 is the horrific control scheme. Why haven't they streamlined it? I remember OpFlash menus/controls being almost identical. I realize it's supposed to be a "battle simulator", and it accomplishes that quite nicely, but nobody has time to navigate through 4 fucking submenu's while being fired upon. It shouldn't take me 15 seconds to tell the guy on my left to engage.

If they could sort the control scheme and absolutely embarrassing AI they'd have an A+ title.
Also, stringing sentences together in Microsoft SAM speak is fucking unbecoming. Come on now - spend a little extra and have them record the fucking lines like humans.

I give them points for giving the cobra's realistic armaments, the Hellfire's actually fire off the rails and leave empty hard points behind - impressive.

I just press space, and then a number. Just like in Operation Flashpoint. In fact, they work just the same.

AI is doing pretty well actually, perhaps you should just get a clue.

Are you completely daft? They work the same way that an automatic phone service does. Because of how things are altered there is no way for anyone to record the multitude of different sentences required.

Unknown, man, 500 meters
Unknown, man, 400 meters
Unknown, man, 300 meters
Unknown, man, 200 meters
Unknown, man, 100 meters
Unknown, vehicle, 500 meters

Do I need to go on, or will you catch on?

Criticise the game on it's bugs, or the bloody protection scheme ... but the A.I. (that is some of the best I've seen) and the menus? Sod off.

oh dear.. ofp2 looks dreadful
i especially like how he says "see the tracer fire there!" and then says "we have real bullets in this game!"
it's not any closer to ofp than the battlefield games are
i guess from games not done by bohemia, ghost recon advanced warfighter would be the closest
bohemia really has the infantry simulation all for themselves it seems
nothing to worry about from codemasters

If by well you mean lying down prone in the middle of the street in front of an enemy APC that's facing him, then yes, its doing fucking swimmingly.

Yea, and why is that such a momentous undertaking?

Categories of infantry - rifleman, machine gunner, sniper, AT
Distances -"close" (less than 50), "medium range" (50-300"), "far" (300-1000), "BVR" (anything over 1k)
Orientation - N, S, E, W, NE, NW, SE, SW
Affiliation - Friendly, Enemy

That's 5x4x8x2 = 320 lines of dialogue that covers infantry thoroughly and with enough detail to be accurate for the situation at hand. A professional voice actor could knock that out fairly quickly.

Use the same formula for vehicles (classified by type) and you're in business.

It's not as out of reach as you make it sound - they just chose to be overly anal about detail with the whole 100, 200, 300, 400 meters bullshit. It works in real life, not while staring into a monitor.

The menus jar you out of the action and totally fuck your situational awareness. Would it have been that difficult to implement voice recognition or a "smart key" (cursor over an enemy + button press = engage). In this case, a combination of the two would have worked wonders.

I enjoy the game for its tactical accuracy in regards to weaponry etc. but there is absolutely no excuse to stick with such a draconian menu system and shitty voice overs simply because they are too lazy to streamline and add some features rather than simply cutting and pasting the menus from a game released a decade ago.

They can retain the hardcore feel of the series while at the same time improving on its weaknesses if they simply tried rather than taking the lazy way out.

This was my Problem: "This Fixed EXE does NOT work properly as the SecuROM Triggers kick in, degrading the the game & making the weapons very inaccurate."

Now yesterday i buy the Game at a Store...install the 1.01 Final Patch....and the Game works perfect. No Probs anymore. Looks that the Final Patch works very good. Smile
I don't use Cracks anymore on this Game.
