Tungsten wrote: | To download from the exchange (THIS WILL USE THE LAUNCHER)
Go on the exchange page (thesims3.com/exchange) and look for whatever you want to download. Then mouse over the "add to game" button and look for the target url or you can rightclick-> properties. You want the assetId number example:('download','3545'). Then in your browser url, type in sims3://download/?assetId=xxxx, change xxxx to whatever assetId you want. |
Hey man, I followed this to the letter.
It opens the Launcher and I get a box (where the item should be) and it says status - waiting for download
I click the check box and have no option to install....am I missing something?
If you wouldn't mind, please help me out. I'd appreciate very much
EDIT
Sorry, it says "Queued For Download" and the size of the file is 1kb
EDIT
Nevermind....had to unblock outbound connection on the Launcher.
Thanks for the trick bud

Still, thanks for passing the info along bud
Hey, do you know how to move out of the Sunny whatever community and into the Riverview one? With the same character tho.

You can export them and then import them in Riverview. You'll loose some progress and such tho. No way to just use your mobile to move. They're both completely seperate worlds.

This game did crash twice very seriously. Had to reboot.
So, make saves every 10-15min just to be sure. Sucks to lose hours of playing after a crash.
Maybe it is just an rld issue.

Yes it is, happened to me with the rld release too, every second gamestart. No crash since I use the razor release. The rld version seems to be a little bit buggy.

Never had any problems with the RLD version either, and I played it much more than the RZR release.

EA pretty much contradicted themselves with this, always whining about piracy being the reason they fail, so much loss in sales because of piracy and needing ridiculous DRM, they release a game with barely any DRM and look what happens
people who buy games want a game, not a puzzle

Sims 3 was pirated 20 days before it's retail release, it's been downloaded off various public torrent trackers, the retail didn't contain any drm outside of the dvd check and cd key, making for an easy copyable game.
But the game has proved to be the strongest launch/sale in EA's history
Maybe this will prove to EA and other companies like it that it pays to treat your customers well.

It's not only treating customers well, it is also delivering a good game. EA cash-whoring tactics aside, this is a fantastic game, and it shows in sales. I hope their store fails so they don't do it again, but eh, we'll see.

Meh, all they are probably thinking about is how many millions they have lost in sales.

Well, the first leaked version had protection. A lot of good that did them ...

This is good. Don't like EA much as a company, but when even *they* see that they can still sell tons of games without DRM, it could spell the end for that stupid protection scheme.

Try a bit comparison, and my guess is that they will not be the same.

lol people are still arguing over rld and rzr's release? I had rld release and the game never crashed once or had any issues. Although, when I got my retail collector's edition and installed it, I noticed a few clothing items that were not in rld release.
The thing I don't understand are the "updates" that were released. The retail copy I had says the game is 1.0.631.0001 and as far as i know (unless there is something wrong with the sims 3 launcher), there are no updates for the game. So why are there updates to 1.0.631.0002 or 1.0.631.0003?
