The official site has just been enabled at http://www.ring2-themovie.com/

So what do think about this one? I have a feeling It's gonna rock like the first one. I recently took some time watching the Japanese Ringu 1, 2 and 0 and those were not bad either. It's always interesting to watch the original. Personally I like the Dreamworks recreation more. It feels more scary and filled with action.

Quote:
Academy Award® nominee Naomi Watts ("21 Grams") reprises the role of investigative reporter Rachel Keller in "The Ring Two," the sequel to the 2002 horror hit "The Ring." Hideo Nakata, the director of the original Japanese blockbuster "Ringu" upon which the "The Ring" was based, directed "The Ring Two," which marks his American film debut.

The story picks up six months after the horrifying events that terrorized Rachel Keller and her son Aidan (David Dorfman) in Seattle. To escape her haunting memories, Rachel takes Aidan and moves to the small coastal community of Astoria, Oregon, to start fresh. However, Rachel's resolve quickly turns to dread when evidence at a local crime scene-including an unmarked videotape-seems eerily familiar. Rachel realizes that the vengeful Samara is back and more determined than ever to continue her relentless cycle of terror and death.

"The Ring Two" is produced by Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald, who also produced "The Ring." Also returning from "The Ring" is screenwriter Ehren Kruger. The executive producers are Mike Macari, Roy Lee, Neil Machlis and Michele Weisler.

Joining Naomi Watts and David Dorfman in the cast are Simon Baker (TV's "The Guardian"), Elizabeth Perkins ("Speak") and Academy Award® winner Sissy Spacek ("Coal Miner's Daughter," "Carrie").

The behind-the-scenes team includes director of photography Gabriel Beristain ("Blade II," "Dolores Claiborne"), production designer Jim Bissell ("Jumanji," "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial"), costume designer Wendy Chuck ("About Schmidt," "Bad Santa"), editor Michael Knue ("Spawn," "The Crow: City of Angels"), special effects coordinator Peter Chesney ("Men in Black," "The Mothman Prophecies"), visual effects supervisor Betsy Paterson ("Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed"), and six time Oscar®-winning special makeup effects designer Rick Baker ("Planet of the Apes," "Men in Black").

anyways...i can imagine if they did it right this one could be damn cool too. thanks for the notice about the website Smile

I found I liked ringu more than I liked the ring. The music and overall creepiness of ringu was better.
But again its a matter of opinion.

I though ringu and Ring were both pretty boring and very unscarry Sad

About Hitman: Movie (2007)
Vin Diesel is a hardcore gamer, and absolutely loves the Hitman series. For that reason I have faith that he wont destroy the movie.

Response: Well, Uwe Boll probably loved the Alone in the Dark games.

This movie will 100% turn into the grudge. "The ring 2... scariest movie of 2005"

Original ringu has a terrifying ending. Not the sadako coming out of the tv... that would scare little brunettes. When the reporter found out what she had to do to save the life of her son. That was despicable. That was what our human race is all about. Sacrifice Crying or Very sad

The thing that intrigues me about The Ring 2 is that it is directed by the same director who directed Ringu 2. And even though Ringu 2 wasn't amazing/terrifying there was this one scene that I loved and it was in the editing studio. If you seen the movie you know what I'm talking about.

That scene is the only one I would love to see in the remake.

Wtf japanese horror movies are far scarier than hollywood remakes. i dont see how any of u found the ring (yankversion) scary at all. the woman on scary movie 3 was scarier Rolling Eyes the jap version was better in every way, the effects, sound, directing. its much more dramatic ban these shitty things and bring on more japanese films.

Aye... the special effects on Asian movies surpass the special effects we see on North American movies. :\ The sacrifice type plot ending was better than the save son by coping the tape ending.

And the TV end scene Surprised hahaha fuck man that looked amazing. Then I watched the American one and Rolling Eyes. No wonder it was rated pg13 Laughing any horror movie rated pg13 Laughing is shit Very Happy if ring 2 is rated pg13 it will blow.

Crying or Very sad why not just dub over the Japanese version? Then you’d just have shitty acting Very Happy

I thought it was decent. Didn't really find it scary though. Then again I don't find most movies scary these days. First one was better.

It seems that you who've seen it and think it should've been scarier aren't alone. Very bad grades at IMDB. But if you remove the scary part is the movie anything to watch if you focuse on the supernatural part?
