Stop being a bitch. There are people that have seen a lot worse shit then you have. Fucking deal with it.

Finish your enlistment and don't re-enlist. It's that simple. However, don't be the bitch that fakes some mental illness or some other dumbass shit just so he can get out. If you really don't like what your doing go work mail room. Problem solved.

it's his choice, if he's horrified of his military experiences and can't take it then do what you can to get out, shitload of soldiers have commit suicide on the field, that's completely ridiculous not even one enemy bullet had scratched them just so they can blow their brains out themselves.
there are plenty of ways to get money, it's still not too late, learn programming, web design etc, that shit pays well and you work from home.

People aren't being drafted in against their own will. He signed up full well knowing it was the MILITARY, not baby happy fun times camp. There are WW2 and Vietnam war vets who have dealt with a lot worse shit and you didn't see them bitch out. They fucking dealt with it like men - And most of them were drafted in without any choice.

How the hell do you know what he has seen. He has a choice not to "fucking deal with it" by getting out of the armed forces. Can't you just buy your way out in the US? I know you can in the UK.

I've seen shit to. However, i'm not going to even ATTEMPT to claim that i've seen shit that is worse then what some WW2 vets and Vietnam war vets have seen. Why? Because no one from this current conflict can. I've seen fucked up shit, but I wasn't in the baton fucking death march or other shit.

No, you can't buy your way out. You can get out if you can prove you are allready making a shitload of money somewhere else, however. Meaning, your needed elsewhere.

Like I said, if he can't deal with the deployed side of things anymore he needs to go mail room.

Once again, he knew what he was signing up for.

Peoples minds and thoughts change over time though and just for example, a 30 year old would have changed a lot since signing up in his teens.

That's a whole other generation, today's generation is soft, he's clearly not military material and he won't be doing any good in the battlefield, many soldiers don't have any idea what they're signing up for, all they see is the shiny check and go to fight a war that doesn't make any proper sense. so he's better off outside of the military.
The battlefield is Urban areas and the enemy is often hidden within civilians and civilian buildings, most don't know what hit them until they watch their other half fly in the air.
My Grandfather fought in WWII, he didn't have a choice and from the stories he's been telling me it's really horrible shit, he spent a whole night in a swamp area filled with leeches hidden from a shitload of enemies, and the next night being burned by his buddies' smokes to get the leeches out, still carries a gun shot wound scar in his left shoulder, but I've never seen him regret, that generation was all about "that's life for me, let's make do" today's generation is all about watching only HD with many comforts that they're afraid to lose. also that generation believed in something, and that gave them strength, was what they believe in bullshit or not it didn't matter.

No he did not (unless he somehow foresaw every moment of his future in the army: stuff he'll feel, stuff he'll see).

WTF? The guy has posted ONCE and you start speculating what kind of person he is and all that kind of shit. You guys are acting like a bunch of fucking know it alls, unless you guys have also been in the military for 4 years then you can't possibly know what he feels like.

Like I said, he can go join mailroom if he can't deal with being deployed again.

As for the all the armchair generals, get the fuck out. I love it when people think they can give advice on a topic they have absolutely no idea about. He has options besides going AWOL or faking some sickness.

I'm not judging anyone ,just to be clear, but I'm interested in one thing: why did you join the army?

I could never go to war. I survived one when I was young and that's enough for a lifetime. Do you get some special privileges? What's the reason you (Mchart, Oddmaker, copecowboy) decided to join?

Always wanted to do some cool stuff in my life, and joining the air force has granted me that. Not to mention it pays well, and I get the GI Bill for college afterwords. I've done some really cool stuff most that I can't talk about. Seen some bad stuff to, but the good outweighs the bad for me.
