A video card from 5 years ago is currently in midrange.
Should it run better? Sure. But it being a 'high end card' fades over 1/2 a decade.

yeah, the updated version that was released few years ago with the ep2 engine lighting looked great already, its still hl 2 and the performance hit def not worth it now, maybe in 10 years when gpus are better

At this rate yes. That's exactly where things are headed if there isn't a total rethinking of how GPU's work.
