Quote:
AMBI Pictures, run by Andrea Iervolino and Monika Bacardi, has announced it will finance and produce the remake.

In a statement, Bacardi said, “Memento is a masterpiece that leaves audiences guessing not just throughout the film, but long after as well, which is a testament to its daring approach. We intend to stay true to Christopher Nolan’s vision and deliver a memorable movie that is every bit as edgy, iconic and award-worthy as the original. It’s a big responsibility to deliver something that lives up to the mastery of the original, but we are extremely excited and motivated to bring this puzzle back to life and back into the minds of moviegoers.”

Talk about unnecessary.

I really can't imagine what worth could it have. Memento is Memento - the movie didn't really get old in any way and retelling the same story serves no purpose. Like, at all. It's not even a huge blockbuster, so I can't see any rivers of monnies flowing out of it. Someone's really wasting time and precious dollars.

I'm all up for remakes that improve or expand, but what on earth do they think they could add that'll make it a better movie than the original?

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

This is dumb on every level. Hopefully at some point the execs from the studio will realize that and cancel this shit.

Wrong. People do not use Polaroids today and thus cannot connect with the original film's premise. The remake will introduce instagram selfies to fit with today's cultural expectations.

Great, we need more remakes after the Oldboy one. Man, that was amazing.
