Don't forget to use Rivatuner (or alternatively the NV Inspector) in order to get the most out of it, the sense of 240hz smoothness is amazing by default, but it does get consistently better once you manually adjust the framerate putting it to a stable value for games. The lower the better, since thanks to the gsync you can see frames more clearly that way, though this could be a sweet spot:

Thanks for advice ixi!
But its true. Best to lock game to 238 fps so gsync is always active. It is so smooth whatever the fps is.
@ampeg - it depends. Ive not tested much yet. There are so many frames so motion blur is not needed there to cheat my eyes into clear motion. But if a game works at lower fps then motuon blur would still help. I mean with 240hz or ulmb at 144hz You can see things when turing around clearly or read text whe scrolling.
I was not expecting to feel much difference of 144hz... Let alone 144hz to 240hz but I can feel and see the 240hz. It cannot go higher right?

You could try some extremes to see for yourself, if there is room for potential left still.

You can change the speed to whatever you feel like is the maximum you could care about and see if blurring occurs (bars widen). The default settings (12 pixels per frame) cause a checkerboard image for 60Hz displays without display time reducing methods (strobing, bfi), which just shows how awful naive 60Hz still are.
I still believe that strobing/bfi are a more cost effective solution than higher refreshrates, because they don't cost computing power. Refreshrates need to be high enough to avoid flicker (and maybe light loss), and perhaps then some for the feel of a game.

I had a Acer Predator with 144Hz and it was really, really bad with certain objects (brownish) so that when you moved , it left behind a purple trail / ghost of the same object.
I couldnt play CS:GO because of that and then I got an Eizo with a VA display (the other was TN+film I believe). |
There are only few new gsync 240hz monitors.
I have AOC AG251FG. There is also Asus and Acer. All have presumably the same panel inside.
It's a TN panel but I am surprised that viewing angles are ok. Better than TN I had in 2007... So this is not a problem surprisingly. The picture quality is good. Don't see what the big deal is. At least there is no ips glow or silvering.
