Spent quite some hours in Simtower.

Might pirate.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

@couleur
Was very young back then when i got my hands on SimTower. Only played it for a few hours i think. But i enjoyed what i played of it back then. I enjoyed the other "Sim XXX" and "Theme XXX" more though at the time. Very Happy

@dethy @Silent_Lurker
Y U No????
Did you enlarge the screenshots and/or watched the trailer?!
IMO graphics look just fine for such a game. No need for some 3D graphics with UE4 or CryEngine.

Seems not too bad.

I just wish that they will add idle animations for people working in rooms. So far they are just static. Makes the game look rather lifeless, even with people running in between rooms.

I guess they fear the game would be too demanding on current PC hardware, this is why there are no idle animations and the game looks like pure Shiiiiiaaaat.

Smile

Hell yes, this looks promising indeed Smile (even though the devs have a so-so curriculum)

I wonder if it will have awkward scenes and random acts of violence.. like the movie!

I think that the art style (and by extension building) can best be described as "where dreams go to wither and die". So damned drab that you can almost smell the stench of the rat-race coming out of it. Sad

Yeah, doesn't look appealing at all. Very drab and almost looks like a cheap Flash game.

The dude is very happy about the game.

I'm also more positive about it after his video.

The game will also have Steam Workshop support.

That was surprisingly positive indeed, the only downsides the he enlists are the lack of adequate information/feedback when the skyscraper is packed like an ants' nest, and the so-so visual customization options (easily fixable through modding which is supported). Razz

Yeah, it's very much like a more complex SimTower.

What this REALLY REALLY REALLY lacks right now is a way to move rooms. Would be nice to rearrange stuff.

It's a great game so far. Playing it slowly trying to get a good hang of everything. Different tenants have different needs and/or services needed. Pre-planning is required. I knew about evicting tenants drops the stars for prestige, but didn't know that destroying and moving a service does that too LOL

Yea, the current system is kind of limited. You HAVE to know ahead of time what's going to be needed where, because once you start demolishing restaurants/services to move them around and re-arrange shit your tenants/office workers fucking scatter.

Cool game, but not much thought put into the actual building system. Sad

That was my fear when I saw all the gameplay. Quite a lot of building/managing games they create these days totally miss the ball on that. Well since that will never get fixed I guess I won't be playing this.

Release Date: 13 Jul, 2017

Detail
    Beyond the sun, sand and surf that draw millions of visitors to Miami every year lies a glittering city of high-end shopping and dining. Create an opulent shopping mall with irresistible restaurants and chic shops to lure tourists away from those beautiful golden beaches. In the Miami Malls content pack, under the radiant South Florida sunshine, you’ll strive to establish a mall that rivals some of the world’s great shopping centers.

    With 15 additional stores and restaurants, you’ll be able to create shopping centers that no longer need offices, apartments or hotels to draw in visitors. From sunglass stations and toy stores to salons and video game arcades, a wide variety of new retail and dining options await you.

    The bus terminals and train stations in the Miami Malls content pack bring even larger crowds to fill your malls and shopping centers. Observation decks draw in droves of tourists who might just stop by a food court or a souvenir shop while they’re heading up to take in the panoramic city views.

    What’s a mall without water features? Towering mall fountains look their fanciest when flowing in front of new arched glass and steel lobbies. And don’t forget the tropical flair with decorations and wallpapers themed to match the new Miami Malls stores and restaurants.
