How does everyone feel about it? Personally, I love good anime.

Also, anyone got any good ones? Currently watching Evangelion.

not really my cup of tea, I'd say I only watched a very very very tiny percentage, mostly from my childhood, other than that I did watch some mature ones, I like the morally gray stuff, on the other hands most of those "special heroes for special enemies" crap is just for children.

Love anime but hard for me to find cause I have such selective taste and only like the futuristic mature sci-fi animes like ghost in the shell, vexille etc Akira was ok.
Anyone recommend me some nice sci-fi anime without any mech-robots Razz

Well, technically Evangelion doesn't have robots. Don't know too many sci-fi animes myself.

Got many animes of all types, if you want some specific stuff, just shout a genre. Smile

Futuristic, mature sci-fi anime without huge robots. Something like GiTS, Vexille, Akira.

Don't like the new fma. It feels rushed and silly at times. This makes it closer to the manga which isn't always a good thing. Sad

while i agree that i certainly noticed SOME times where it FELT rushed, its probably because i was used to all the added fluff in the original series to pad it out... i think stripping that away and focusing more on making the story more streamlined and to the point, can be a good thing. plus, as it moves away from the storyline i 'knew', the rushed feeling has long since gone away in my opinion.

i just think it takes some time getting used to... i cant wait for each new ep. good to see they made bradley more action orientated and badass in this version, thought somehow i cant imagine the mustang/bradley showdown to be as epic as it was in the original... but it'll be damn cool to eventually see how its done in this version.

I just started watching Requiem for the Phantom, there are 16 episodes out and its pretty amazing so far

and yea watch Tokyo Magnitue 8.0, watched 2 episodes so far and its pretty sweet, along with Valkyria chronicles and 07- Ghost..

.but then again I have almost 1TB of anime and I only saw perhaps about 10 series, sometimes it just takes soo long to finish it even with watching 4-8 episodes each day

Tried Hellsing Ultimate? It's great! Nazi zombies running through London slaughtering everyone.
Otherwise Shigurui: killing frenzy maybe

Apparently the Berserk anime was much more toned down than the original manga, and stopped at the beginning of the eclipse.
About the anime I don't know, but the manga is quite possibly the best I've ever read.

berserk had the most fucking heartbreaking FUCK YOU ending ive ever seen in an anime... mainly because it ends up in a massive cluster fuck and they never continued it... i still have hope that some day a second season will be made, because the story definitely doesnt end there...

bebop had a really epic and sad ending too, but totally for a different reason...

hellsing ultimate is kind of hit and miss with me... some of them were fucking great and some were meh... but the last one was pretty good, and i loved the original series, so obviously i cant wait for, and will watch, the next one... when its released in 2015 or whenever the fuck they get around to it! Very Happy Very Happy

kinda surprised no ones mentioned some of my fav animes (or was there no point because everyone has allready seen them?)

trigun - this is a must see... seriously.
gungrave - fantasy based, but much more mature than a lot of anime out there... really excellent.
outlaw star - humor/action in a sci-fi setting... kicks ass, same kinda vein as bebop.

these are must-sees dammit

ive heard good things about coyote ragtime and black blood brothers i think its called... need to get around to those some day.

ive got trinity blood and speedgrapher which i swear ill get around to watching some day....

I can't get over the fact they all just stand there and wait. "OK, I'll hit you now, then you'll hit me, then the dude overthere will swing but will miss, now I swing but miss" Laughing

yeah turn based combat always seemed some what pussy and lazy to me and i always mock people about itt whenever i can. oh, your wounded? k... take ur time and heal, ill wait, hahahahah Very Happy

but what i cant stand is the fucking dialog... a friend made me play xenogears... one person says something... then another person repeats it... then the first person confirms once again that yes, indeed thats what he said... takes like 5 bits of dialog before they finally understand one fucking thing and move on... and what killed me most is i couldnt FUCKING SKIP IT!!! i didnt speak much to my friend for a few weeks while i played it.... or a few weeks after.... i think he still bears a grudge because i told him how fucking horrible the game was and the utter contempt i had for it and japanese rpgs in general.

that being said, i DID enjoy crisis core for psp...

I think most of these issues are due to Japanese culture and language.
