Backrooms is an upcoming American science fiction horror filmdirected by Kane Parsons and written by Will Soodik. It is based on Parson's web series inspired by the "Backrooms" creepypasta. The film stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Renate Reinsve, Mark Duplass, Finn Bennett, Lukita Maxwell and Avan Jogia.
Backrooms is scheduled to be released in the United States by A24 on May 29, 2026.

Filming started 7th of July and ended 14th of August. That's not a lot but I guess there's no need for more since all they have to do is smack up some cardboard walls and paint them in note-it-yellow and have the actors run around for a while.
I hope it's more entertaining than the games but I doubt it. I tried a couple of the backroom games and they all bored me to death while being very annoying.
The teaser just looks like the games (ie. boring). I had to check if the movie is 3d-animated but it's not. They got Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) from Dr. Strange in the movie. Oh well.
Digital release is nowhere to be found on the usual intrawebs places. It's supposed to be today.
