So my vista pc is infected with this trojan... avast never fully got rid of it so i installed kaspersky.. but it still keeps appearing every now and again.
Any ideas?? i havew turned off sys restore but that did nothing

Have you run a FULL scan with Kaspersky ? (Yes, I know it takes hours,but ...)

As soon as i installed it.. sometimes the pc will boot and i get no virus warning.. other times i do

Sometimes system restore files themselves get infected though I don't know how this virus works. You might try deleting your system restore save points (all of them), turning off system restore, scanning/cleaning your system with your specific anti-virus program in that order. If all remains clean, then you could turn on system restore back again.
If everything fails, try a repair of your installation (assuming this is xp we're talking about) using the install disk. It's not a repair from scratch but just your system files while your data files are left intact.

I mean no offense, but if you were lame enough to get screwed by a virus, just reinstall windows.
Your computer will never be the same after fucking it enough to get rid of a virus. That and nothing beats the fresh feeling of windows.

Why didn't you say you had shitty Spybot installed in the first place ? That proggy was good a few years ago, but now ...
P.S.: I knew Kaspersky couldn't screw up !
