I don't get it why can't they just stop? Why they keep going on and hitting stuff?
They're Americans. Getting out and walk isn't even an option.
+ ABS wasn't really introduced there until recently and only a minority of American cars have ABS. And they're most likely driving with summer tires, not dubbed winter tyres. So they're like Bambi on the ice when they're victims of slippery roads. And obviously they don't know anything about driving when slippery.
I see some push the pedal to the metal in an effort to get control which obviously has the opposite result since spinning/skidding tyres just makes everything worse. And without ABS, breaking is futile as well, it will just make the whole car skid sideways.
The driving here had some to do with it, but very little..I was stuck near Portland during this storm. Over there, it will be raining, and the temperature will drop crazy fast with wind coming off of Mt. Hood just causes the rain to like snapfreeze to the roads, making it incredibly smooth and slick. Several times driving to portland in higher elevations, you would go from dry road to 3mph ice covered roads from the wind. Shouldn't have been out driving during that storm anyway..everything was closed
