i know this should go in the technical forum but no1 really looks there. my SS2 installs fine but the crack wont run. i get the dubug report thing, it says somthing is wrong with my kernel32.dll. anyone else have this prob (XP home sp2) or is it just me?
you can move this if you must.

kernell32.dll that has to do with explorer no? i dunno sounds like you gotta fucked up os or explorer..

SS2 is not fully compatible with WinXP, you need to run it in compat mode. Also the cracks are buggy and sometimes do not work (for my friend it didn't), main reason im glad I own the game...
I recommend buying it, I mean its less then $10 now...

ss2 did not run on xp but installing the patch for it remedies that, u should not have to run it in compatibility mode.

grrrrrrr. ok can some1 help me pleae i got a new kernell from my m8 no change.
i do full install and copy crack from CD nothing works. so find me patches etc. ive tried some from megagames but they're not working

try the patch wierd0 posted a link it should make it work.
great game....is this first time playing or just gonna give it another run through?. get the texture packs and shit too there pretty cool. i have the cracks and patches and shit, if need be and all else fails pm me and i will get them to ya.

did it run under XP SP1??? worked fine for me launchíng it with the -nt option. I have the original CD version, can't remember whether I started it with a crack installed but I'm pretty sure since the CD check takes ages.

Also remember to disable HyperThreading in bios (if P4) wont work with HT..

ok got it to run now. thcracks i used were faulty even though elactly the same size. anyway now i get a new error!
ERROR: Direct3d device driver does not accurately report texture memory usage.
conatact your 3d accelerator vendor for updates.
i have a 4200Ti driver 5.6.7.2 bios version: 4.25.20.06.00

i've never had any trouble running it on xp and i did have a 4200ti a while back. have you tried www.the-underdogs.org they have the game there and good forums for getting old things working, might be worth a try.

Sorry but its not even remotly legit. Not only does it house games that are still copyrighted, it also houses roms which are just as bad...

EDIT: If you would read thier faq you would also know that they state clearly that Abandon ware is illegal and that they know they are doing wrong but will continue to distribute illegal files untill they are back on retailers or the publisher requests for them to remove it.

It's one thing that you shouldnt give out warez links on the forum because nforce could get into trouble, but lecturing people on a warez forum about how wrong it is to download something illegal seems a "litte" out of place.

(Also, I defend this game as much as I can, I think everyone who has it should have bought it. Just trying to show my support for the late LGS)

How so? If EA wants they can sue them for Copyright infringment, they don't even have to ask them to remove the software.
The only difference between them and s*******.org is that they don't allow games that are still being sold by the publisher. They are still doing illegal acts so in no way are they immune from legal battles or in no way legit.
Your not a consumer if you didn't buy the game, they didn't either... I have downloaded games from that site which were released by class (file names and nfo in the compressed zip).
It's a warez site... stop trying to make up excuses...
hahe, You didn't search hard enough, I found plent on Amazon.com and Ebay. Im also sure some online retailers have it also...

I mean in stores. And I'm not using Ebay or Amazon to get a game. That doesn't count anyway. The people that are getting the money are the people selling it not EA.
Also I'm not buying from some Australia site. I live in the US.
Plus it's too late now. It's been on my comp for a while. I barely play it though.
Why you picking on underdogs? It's a great side. Great place to get super old games that you can't find anywhere else.
