I'm about to go out so I can't really microanalyse everything, but a cursory glance? That rig looks awesome! <3 If you can, maybe stretch to a 780 or perhaps even PAIR of 770s, but egh, that's overkill, the rest is great!

Why not? I've had "gamer" cases and they're more flash than function in my experience. The Shinobi, or Corsair/Fractal equivalent, are usually more subdued in design but have great cooling and/or volume.

Why the combination of a K cpu with a H77 mobo? If you want to overclock beyond 3.9Ghz, you will need a Z mobo. Else, if you dont plan on overclocking, you could aswell take a plain i5 3570 and save the money.
And I suppose you could save a few € on that PSU. 650W is more than enough.

I love my Lexa but sadly the airflow sucks and as I found out, despite the chassis size, the internals aren't that large after all.

SSD: Samsung 2.5'' SSD 840 Series 120GB (Serial ATA3) Basic 7mm
PSU: Corsair CX Series 600W ATX, Modular, 80 Plus Bronze (modular one, opted for more power just to be on the safe side, not sure if 450W is going to cut it)
Case: Fractal Design Core 3000 USB 3.0 Black (opted for the 3.0 since it's almost half the price of a 4.0, and the sound isn't really that much of an issue for me)
CPU Cooler: CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO
HDD: WD Blue 1TB WD10EZEX 64MB cache SATA-600

Maybe a matter of telling them its ok by doing it yes, but not a matter of missing the features.
Like in the other thread, I got a K series and run VM's on it all the time for work. Not one issue with it. I've even ran EVE in 2 VM's on it before in full 3d and all was fine.
True that if your going to be running esxi or workstation and using the box as a root VMhost..but I really cant recommend him losing the overclocking greatness of a K, because he wont be able to do, what he will never do with it anyway.
What your telling him is "Dont get the one that is overclockable by a HUGE degree to gain performance in what you are using it for. Because others cant run VM clusters on it."

Hmm, I just noticed that the SSD
( Samsung 2.5'' SSD 840 Series 120GB (Serial ATA3) Basic 7mm )
is filed under notebook SSD, does it make a difference? It's still 2,5". I haven't paid for the rig yet so I can change it

Good setup overall btw. Only niggle for me is indeed the SSD; a Pro would've been nice, although you likely won't ever notice any difference in the real world.
That PSU is one of the better CWT builds as well; still not SS quality, but for that money it's pretty good

You MIGHT need to buy an adapter to fit in the HD slot, depends on if your case/SSD comes with one.
and the 2.5 is fine..the vast majority of the ones you buy are that size, regardless of its labeled as laptop or not.

Awful cooler, mediocore PSU.
Swap the cooler for a Thermalright TrueSpirit if available, cheaper/similiar price and better.
And swap the PSU to something from Seasonic or any of their other brands (Rosewill etc) if available. Though they might not be that readily available as I think they are US branded PSUs that are not that common in Europe, but I could be wrong here.
Only one store sells them in Finland for example.
The CX600 is far from a 600W as it is advertised, it's more closer to a 500W than it is to 600W. (I think it's 40A on 12V rail?)
Not that you need more than 500W for a single GPU solution but still...

The 840 series Samsung is a bit weird tbh, the 840 Pro has more similiar specs to the 830 than the regular 840 does.
If possible, buy the 830 instead of either of those, it is cheaper than the 840 Pro and better than the 840.

I wouldn't label it as "awful cooler" thats giving the impression of down right useless. Id say more of a "there is slightly better alternatives"
