But they still gonna try selling their shit on PS3 no matter how shitty port they made Laughing

yes your right, on one thing, the PS3 will get a shit Port from Xbox360, John Carmack knows this "one thing" that some fanboys don't....

Xbox360 uses gpu to process graphics (easier to code its like when you do a xbox360 game you get a free PC port), PS3 uses CPU to process graphics (means all gfx things are made in CPU software mode NOT IN GPU , gpu in ps3 is only used as a tvtuner for the output)

now port a xbox360 designed game to a PS3 and you get shit like this....

The Xbox 360 and PC versions of Rage are running at 60 FPS, whereas the PS3 version is doing about 20-30 FPS

....that's a huge difference Laughing , and now I imagine the incredible amount of console war growing all around the web.

well all multi platform games are made for the GPU and not the CPU thats why Multi games make PS3 look like shit... Ghostbusters, SW force unleashed etc... but ps3 only games look sweet too bad they are like only 4 games of today that make you buy a ps3 and later make you suffer why of fuck did you bought it Laughing

Game will follow a 60 FPS "rate" or what to call it on PC and X360 and "20 - 30" on PS3.

Meh, I feel sorry for people who only own a PS3. I haven't bought a multiplat game for my PS3 yet, exclusives only.

I dont think it has any interesting exclusives at all, ok 1 or 2 that i could be interested in maybe trying out (little big planet and maybe MGS though im not that found of that series). I was thinking about purchasing it as a BR-player but i think i'll skip that.

Crappy hardware? Don't know what you are talking about. Do you own a PS3 yourself? I am very happy with mine.

Not sure what's the cause of the huge framerate difference, but I'll be playing RAGE on PC because of this. Wink

Same here.

Offtopic really quick. My PS3 was a huge paperweight for a while because I only played Uncharted, and that was about it. It wasn't until this year when i started buying new games for it, and I'm glad I did purchase the PS3. I wont miss out on any exclusives at all this year...

You really think they release som crappy PS3 port?
It probably just mean that their multiplatform engine doesn't scale too well to PS3 and will require serious optimization.
There's still a lot time to release.
But who knows...

Don't give a shit about ps3. As long as it runs at around 60 fps on the pc, it's fine.

yea wouldnt say "crappy hardware" but maybe they just are used to optimizing for that console. But i do agree that Sony's had it rough ever since the PS3's release...exclusives becoming not-exclusive, developers having trouble with the hardware, etc. Ico3 i guess is whats left looking forward to.

Yeah, the game will be surely a blast, but looking at the pure gfx side of the trailer, the Tech5 is far from being a really revolutionary engine. (models are very Doom3-like, and landscapes aren't so different from Fallout3 ones). But as I said, gameplay seems fun and the game will be surely great.

I totally disagree. Just look at it. It's far beyond anything else on the market. They aren't going for 100% realistic graphics like Crysis. They are going for a nice mix, and it looks outstanding.

When I said I wasn't impressed earlier on, I didn't mean because the art direction was not realistic. Art direction has nothing to do with it. Just look at the lighting, the shadows, the model rendering. Very crude, way too rough. Models still look like plastic, a problem even the aging, 3 years old UE3 managed to solve, let alone recent engines like Chrome Engine 3 & 4, CryEngine 2 & 3 and even the new Riddick engine). Everything just looks like an outdoor mod for Doom 3 with some of the shader mods (parallax, hdr, bloom, etc) already available in http://doom3.filefront.com/. Certainly not the industry leading graphics we've come to expect from Carmack.

It's true, Rage has a great post-apocaliptic atmosphere, but I was trying to say (in a graphics whore and cynic way) that there are still the same 2004's low-poly models and Fallout-a-like static landscapes , that's it.

Well, that's not a real excuse. All the engine I mentioned above look better and run on consoles as well.

I didn't say that just because otherwise I would have been bumpered by a bunch of console fanboys. But wait, this is the PC section, so I'm with you.
Anyway, Natan is right too.
