Yes Blizzard thought of that, that's why they removed LAN. Laughing

They are actually NOT punishing pirates doing so, but punishing people who will legitely buy the game : they will have to find workarounds (use some illegal fake battlenet) to actually play this game multiplayer without an internet access.... Shame on you Blizzard

Simple question though, where would you find a place that have no internet?
If you go a bunch to a friend to do some LAN i'm sure you have internet.
If you go to a big LAN they always have internet.
Only time i can think of where you wouldnt have it is if you go camping and forgot your mobile internet at home.

Don't be an idiot, you have to hook up every single computer on a lan party to the internet which can cause a variety of problems, is time consuming and can clutter the connection plus internet is not free and of course if you end up in a shack that doesn't have internet you can't play.

No I would just pir8te SCII massively because its beyond moot that when SCII arrives someone will immediately build an online/Local LAN circumvention app because SCII has the same popularity as Windows7 -- everyone and their pet poodle will demand it and, thus, crackers of the planet will unite to bring it down for all to use. Its beyond inevitable.

only thing that could accomplish that would be an emulated battle.net server, and chances are, it won't ever be created, seeing how the new battle.net will debut with starcraft 2 and I'm sure blizzard will do everything they can to keep it from getting emulated like the current one.

Well, there are plenty of World of Warcraft private servers floating around. Some better than others, but emulating Battle.net will be a thousand times easier.

a few months ago I was still hoping, but considering the beta just didn't come I was definitely starting to expect a delay.

too bad..
it's a bit distrubing though that they're saying it's first half 2010 now... so it looks like they're not counting on a release in the first quarter either.
and second quarter 2010 is kinda when I'm expecting diablo 3.... hmhmhm!

now I'm just hoping that with their new *1 top title per year* policy this won't mean that diablo 3 won't be here until 2011. that'd suck.

hey, dont put me in the same boat with you ....

Blizzard NEVER stated when SC2 will be released. Never ever (because they never do lol). They made a rough estimate, and when you were following blizzard and the gaming industry, then you'd know to add a couple month to any estimate from blizzard. BECAUSE THEY CARE.

I rather have them doing their thing and get a polished product (which i'm buying, go figure) then to have a bugged flawed one. Just so you are happy and can leech it somewhere...
