Are there detailed talent trees for the classes anywhere? i like to plan my builds before i start playing. old diablo2 behaveiour of me ^^

hopefully there will be an scene release tomorrow. i need to be sure it hooks me before i buy it and im not the biggest fan of action rpgs with guns and stuff (fallout3 is a good game, but it felt wrong for me).

Read the article made 5 years ago. It's allready been heavily used by a few publishers. The only reason it hasn't been seen on wide-scale yet is because the 'big' publishers haven't used it yet. I don't doubt for a second that 2KGames is finally using it. Considering their track-record with copy-protection schemes. Bioshock was one of the first AAA titles to use the securom online activation method.
Keep in mind that I wouldn't think it used this technology if it wasn't for the fact that there is clearly online activation for the game which will be turned on tonight at midnight.
I guess we'll get our answer at midnight. The activation page could be nothing more then a registration page for stupid shit. However, the wording 'Activation' usually isn't used for a 'Register the game' type deal.

it will be cracked anyway and if there is lan support, vpn does the deal for multiplayer.

There's no paul.dll or similar support file among the Steam pre-loaded files, using the Steam content toolbox or what it's called there is a option to enter a cd-key for the review copy but nothing for the normal game edition, it's possible such files will be added when it's unlocked though.
It might also be for the D2D or Gamersgate download editions, unsure about retail copies but they're probably unprotected if there's no serial in the manual or game box.
(Sure it could be engraved on the disc but there should be a note or something else as well in my opinion.)

Toolbox?
Can you use that to enter the decrypt key and decrypt the files? Could turn out useful when it gets released.

It's been said that there are files missing from the retail disc which leads me to beleive there are files missing from the Steam pre-load as well. (This has happened in the past) There is likely a 0-Day patch of some sort.

The purchased version of borderlands is just the preload content on a cd with a launcher that tells you if 0-day content is missing.

Told ya mate, I won't be able to afford it this week. I had enough "spare" cash to buy Torchlight, simply because that was only €15. I get paid again next week and I'll buy it then, of course, but sadly that means no Friday night bash for me
