thing is, i think the reason WHY they do this, is that they expect people to have ALLREADY finished the game by the time they get this new dlc content...

Thing is the Blood Dragon Armour and many other items became available immediately once the game was released, so there was no way anyone could've beaten the game already. Chances are most people who were aware of the DLCs did their first playthrough with them.

Stuff is less overpowered in ME2: the Incisor sniper rifle is just different from the Mantis, but not necessarily better (in my opinion, it wastes too much ammo). Don't know about the Collector assault rifle. Didn't use it: too ugly and un-human-like. Razz

The armour suits aren't a no-brainer choice, either, since they're generally balanced even with the basic N7 parts. The suits and parts aren't generally meant to be better or worse than each other: they just often different bonuses. As I said earlier, they're ultimately there to make your character look good.

And they failed to do that - since you can't take the bloody helmets off. Neutral

Yea all the DLC armours don't allow you to remove the helmets. Even with the default N7 armour - why is there no option to have the helmet automatically removed during the dialogues? I mean the mechanic is already there - if you have no helmet the game has you automatically put on the breather helmet during certain missions.

yeah... I refuse to use the dlc armors because they're not individual parts you can use but a full armor suit with a helmet that you can't turn off. it just looks stupid when you're talking to people while wearing a helmet as if you're about to go for a space walk.

I'd like to see your visor getting removed in conversations. I'm fine with the rest of the helmet, cause you wouldn't take it off just for a quick talk. But visor, sure.

The Collector's Rifle is good against non-protected targets(and it's useless on the Insanity level, where everyone has some sort of protection: shield, armir, barrier or a combination of those)

What are they gonna do with that vehicle DLC? They gonna have to add alot to the game, landing on planets, riding around, finding stuff, or who knows.

Collector rifle is made specifically for stripping protections, especially shields.

I prefer that 3-burst assault rifle to the collector rifle - it's way too inaccurate, so I actually found it even less powerful. Haven't tried the Geth rifle yet, it should be good at stripping shields and barriers, so it should be just what I need, if it's at least more accurate than the Collector one. Have plenty to choose from for armor penetration.

We all know EA they come up with 1 or 2 maps to use the hammerhead Sad. If they are lazy they just port them from ME 1 to ME 2 Laughing

PS: Maybe there are planets in the game that need to be unlocked too, for the hammerhead access. Wink

Saw on ME2's official website two dlc items have been released - an armor and gun. I found the link on previous page for the armor but is there one also for the gun - i think it was a M-22a eviscerator shotgun?

Not from what I've seen. You are way better with the Vindicator, at least on Insanity.

True.
Playing as a soldier, the only reason I used the collector rifle was that I kinda got used to it in the beginning and the Vindicator (3-burst rifle) seemed to have much less ammo. So I gave the Vindicator to companions who could use it (unlimited ammo ftw), and stuck with the collector myself in the beginning.
As for the geth rifle, it has a great rate of fire and huge ammo capacity. In terms of accuracy, I'd place it between the Collector and the Vindicator. It's quite subjective, but I really preferred it to the Collector rifle. Especially with all the ammo types of the soldier combined with it (especially incendiary ammo).

I chose the Anti Material rifle for the special upgrade. I wonder if they will allow me to make a second research, when it comes to that, so I could get that mighty assault rifle as well or it will replace my current one.

I overuse the active pause. Miranda takes care of shields and barriers, while Mordin takes care of armors. I take care of the health bar. So I rarely see the Vindicator out of ammo. Shepard soldier plus Miranda plus Mordin are like a friggin dream team. Unstoppable, once Mordin gets the shields maxed and Miranda gets the life bonus. All their powers are set on heavy stuff and not on crowd control. For crowd control I've got my soldier with concussion blast, while all the ammo types are set to be used by the whole squad. The Anti Material Sniper Rifle it's one hell of a piece. Limited ammo, but it can take allmost everything in one shot.

Tried using the Collector AR on my Infiltrator in Insanity. Took pretty much 3 reloads to kill one Blue Suns guy. It's pretty terrible.

Me as a soldier and Miranda with Mordin was pretty much my set up as well on my first run. A very powerful combo.
But on the second playthrough with higher difficulty, I noticed that shields and barriers are the things that cause me more trouble (and against which Mordin is useless), once I got past that, taking your foes out was easy as a soldier, so I replace Mordin for a different skill set now. But of course, it also depends on the opposition.

Better to use it (EDIT: Collector assault rifle in the post above the above one.) to remove any protection and then use the heavy pistol (Once upgraded/swapped to the second version.) or the shotgun (The new one should work even better, haha.) to remove the health bar and kill the thing. Very Happy

Might have been mistaken then, it might have been OK against barriers and shields but not actual armor and health, not the best choice of course fairly good for a assault rifle.
(Been a while since I played however, perhaps I'm remembering it incorrectly?)

EDIT: Should perhaps have compared it against the Geth rifle a bit more, rarely used it as I saw it more as a trophy weapon though I also preferred the heavy pistol to other weapons as it required very few shots to kill most anything.
(Though I kept the collector rifle trough the entire game as it ranked higher than even the LMG, furthest down on that weapon list, unless I've mistaken how that works, whoops in that case as it also lists the tri-shot sniper rifle as the best along the new shotgun and the black hole gun for those categories though I suppose the nuker would perhaps be better in pure damage and ease of use for heavy weapons so I might have been wrong about it.)

No. Neither an upgrade or a new weapon class. It won't replace it either.

Did anyone notice CPU cores overheating (around 65C) during this game? BTW I used coretemp and asus probe and got different results (AP around 70 and CT around 65).

What do you mean? Surprised
My team is now almost full just one free spot but i dont see a quest for another member to recruit and i also got zaeed from the dlc.So i guess its not possible to full that spot?

You'll get that final character as part of the story, which I'm sad to say is coming to end for you. As Laurentiu said, if you've done all the sidequests and exploration, you've got about 2-3hrs left. Tops.

That final character + Loyalty mission
One more Story mission
End game mission

Depending on how fast/slow you are, yeah.... it's almost over.

Wow you were right, i just finished this epic game Mad
I thought just a part of the story would be to recruit a new team and that the biggest part of the story would be to go after the collectors with your team.
But i was so wrong! Very Happy it really took me just 2 hours to finish the game after i had build my new team. Rolling Eyes
For me it was a small disappointment since i expected much more but however the game is still great!
