Provided Ubi does not make any drastic changes to the DRM, this game will be compromised a bit quicker than AC2 as the SP is only 5 hrs long or so. Hopefully this is the case.

And that is exactly why I play console-ports with the gamepad, they are designed for one after all, and the game is oftenly to easy with the mouse because you can rack up headshots easily.
One exception is bioshock 2, it's much better with mouse&keyb because of all the powers and weapons, to much buttons for a gamepad. |

That review just strenghtened my initial fears that the game operates under the assumption that the player is completely retarded. I played the demo and it was insulting, just how lowly the developers regarded the gamers' mental ablilities.
A sad thing that it's going to be successful, sicne it will easly find its target audience.

Oh, you so right, what we see in videos and people playing the FULL version on console has nothing to do with the FULL version, and it will be totally different. |

After a lot of bashing, let's try some constructive criticism. I'm paying the game right now and almost finished it. It is best compared to Resident Evil 3 -> 4: totally different.
The only real criticism I have is the AI, the enemies are so shortsighted that you sometimes feel like cheating when sneaking up to them from cover to cover WHILE THEY LOOK IN YOUR DIRECTION.
Apart from that it isn't too bad, it just isn't stealth anymore but it's a nice game. If you approach it as an action game you will find that the level design and pacing are very good and the whole game feels polished.
Still, after I finish this I'll go back to Chaos Theory to say farewll to the old Splinter Cell.

iNatan : I wonder why you leech games then if playing is exactly the same as watching some other guy playing it on some other platform, playing it in 720p (and downsampled for video streaming)... Don't ever leech games ever then, just download video walkthrough of them ! I played the game, so I could have an opinion of how it plays with the pad in hand and for now I love it. Play it too, you will like it !

What you're saying is this is another mediocre third person shooter and we should still be happy about it?
The reviews are "Oh my god such an reinvention of the stealth genre you don't even have to stealth OGMOMG!!!" Basically, they don't want stealth games.. they want more shitty third person shooters.
Cyclonefr you don't get it.
Oh well, Splinter Cell and those games listed above by garus are dead.

Sure I do get it, I played the game for a few missions (definitely longer than what you guys watched on IGN), so I had a glimpse of the story which is very important for a game. The gameplay has a few new stuff, you can interact with the setting a lot to kill your ennemies, there are multiple paths to finish a level (window, main door, etc), you can update your weapons, and not to forget the "shoot and execute".
But oh well, YOU get it more than I do cuz you READ a review (which noted the game good btw) and I ONLY played the game so I surely dunno what I'm talking about... Just you guys admit it, you are pissed off at UBI drm, end of story and are too blind enough to actually considerate there are GOOD things about this game.
I don't wanna spoil the story, but I liked how the tutorial is based on Sam 20 years ago, this changed from boring tutorials... But then again you guys saw that on IGN right ???
