The classes were the only thing that seemed out of the ordinary... Each class gets three class trees; you can either have a pure class and access to all three, or a hybrid that gets to pick two trees from all classes.

It's already linked to in the first post but.

Which would then lead to.

If the description above sounded interesting enough to give it a try. Smile

Dynamic world that actually changes depending on the player's actions. Not to mention that things go on even without you: for instance, if a village is besieged by enemies and you do nothing it'll get destroyed.

Its interesting that every time you play different events happens.

The demo goes up to level 5, but its good enough to understand what makes it unique.

meh, not really.
I'm level 4 or 5 now. The controls are a little off. I find clicking on monsters to be less precise than other games, especially if there are a lot of monsters. Quests seem all over the place. I'd just entered level 1 and got a quest for something on level 10. It failed before I even finished running through level 2. There is dynamic and there is stupid.

There are portals on every level, but no town portal spell i can find. Creates excessive back tracking. With respawning monsters this is a bit of a pain.

What is the deal with cursed items, can I just take them off at will?
its like every rare item I find is cursed.

check the map screen, you'll see what world modifiers you have.. probably cursed.

Game seems more entertaining than recent dungeon crawlers, tbh its quite good for me.. blew my expectations after i had watched a youtube of how terrible it was.
Easily has the worst aesthetics though, in every regard.

Portals work on every level, you don't need any scrolls or anything. I have never backtracked.
That said i've played it about 20 minutes total and hit level 4 hahah.

Will be awaiting crack.. if only they had spent a few more minutes tweaking the ui and not making hp bars default mspaint color, I might've ventured the 25.

This might have had a chance if the demo hadn't bugged out on me.
I had "Saved" the town and was given the button to move to the next town. I wanted to finish one level I skipped, so I went back down. All the while the button was there. Somehow a couple quests got triggered on the last level. I have to kill 2 shamans (2 quests). Problem is they won't spawn. I've cleared the level 4 times.
Since those quests have popped up the button to let me move to the next town disappeared.
I've tried dropping the quests and taking them again, no luck.

Clearly this includes ideas from several action RPGs, but implements them all in a clunky way. All games are about clicking buttons and keys and moving the mouse, but the best games make you forget this.

Epsilon: Game is great btw, I love it, so far it's a definite goty. It's remarkable how much has changed since the beta, stardock have been working their asses off, and it shows.

I caved and bought it to play coop with a friend.
His opinion went from "99.9% going to hate it", to bought in an hour Very Happy

The internet lobby is currently dead for playerbase, but it works well online; netcode is roughly on par with diablos.

In the event you suffer some terrible gamebreaking quest (can't say i've had one yet, or any problems), you can just start a new world. each world takes between 20 minutes and several hours, depending on how highly you prioritise the securing of objectives.

I tried the demo and rather liked it but the random dungeons feel very generic and predictable. The old roguelikes, which this game is descended from, are much more varied. If you like this game for multiplayer, try TomeNET, and it's free. Smile

The first Sacred is on offer at gog.com, and that's a much better game.

Yeah..it is weird having monsters respawn and there be quests pop up later that force you back to earlier levels.
Way too much backtracking in this game.

So many better games to choose from. Torchlight, Sacred, Titan Quest. This game is a good try, but nowhere near the three games I named let alone Diablo.
