Who else would you fight in modern warfare game other than Chinese, Russians or Arabs? Here and there there are some Latin American separatists, etc, but these are even less likely. It has to be one of the big three.

It's whoever is in the news lately. Occasionally we'll get games with North Korea too.

a modern american civil war conflict might be interesting
sarah palin and glenn beck starting a crusade in clowntown to lynch the ni^K^K people of the north with their brains in their heads the right way round
oh wait, they already did something like that
seriously though.. a civil war in a first world country might be interesting from the gaming perspective if done right

Russia is the easiest target for video games' villains, cold war movies have done a good job creating the stereotypical evil commie Russian bad guy that we see in games today.
Russia doesnt give a fuck what US says, and do whatever they want.
Semi-totalitarian leader (Putin) -check.
Formidable arsenal -check.
US doesnt own them trillions of dollars (unlike China) - check.
Communist past (hence ultra-nationalists) -check.
Aggressive -check.
So we have China and Russia that fit the bill, but what looks more badass, some small Asian dude or a bald, scarred, executing civilians, eastern-European accented dude?
At least MOH is set in Afghanistan and no sight of Russians. Who knows, maybe we'll find a band of Russian soldiers left there from Afghan war, who are pissed at US and acquired a nuke and can only be stopped by a single FBI agent with looks and dexterity of a cat who was wrongfully arrested but escaped and now the only chance THE WORLD HAS OF BEING SAVED!!!! EXPLOSIONS!!
Sig too big. -Nothing is too big for Fedor. Expect a nasty armbar.

Not even a ticket to the beta of GR4 could get me to buy the new Splinter Cell.

You only get the beta invite on X360 as it's a X360 beta test only as far as I know, heh.
(Funny but true, probably mostly to build up hype or stress test servers.)

Oh wow:

Your character will then automatically follow the squad leader across the battlefield. You are only required to use the look stick to aim your gun and take out enemies, allowing you to provide cover to the rear without having to worry about losing sight of the squad leader. |

I see lots of butthurtz over countries in games here. TBH I don't give a toss WHO I'm fighting or representing as long as the game kicks ass.

I actually don't think that's a bad feature. I suspect some people here stopped reading after "single button". It keeps you from having to constantly spin around as you're walking if you're trying to cover the rear. Since, in most FPS games, you can't just swivel your head it's not really practical to walk backwards, while firing, while following your teammates. But by pressing a key on the keyboard and turning this mode on the walking backward part gets automated and, like it says, you can concentrate on covering without worrying about moving.
It'll be interesting to see how it actually works in practice though. That's one thing I hated in the RB6 games was not being able to properly cover the rear. Sure it could be done but it was a hassle having to spin all the time. imho

Well of course, why would you need to do anything in a tactical game? Click a button and watch a movie - much better.

Except that it's not just clicking a button and watching a movie. It's not removing anything from the game. It's changing how one specific action is performed.
In a real life situation you have a certain situational awareness that you don't have in a FPS type game. You have a much greater FOV. You can just slightly turn your head alone, not your body, to see where your team members are and back along as they move. You can't do this in a FPS so you end up having to spin your whole body, then spin back. That's not terribly practical. It's a little easier with a 3rd person game as you get your wide FOV back so you can somewhat see where you're going while keeping track of what's behind you - but this isn't a 3rd person game (as far as I know). Perhaps a more "realistic" option would be to keep the follow-mode out of the game and make a 3rd person mode available (one that wasn't half-assed and didn't suck).
Similar to ARMA II. I saw in one of the dev videos he specifically talked about the 3rd person view being more realistic because you had a better FOV and better situation awareness - even though a lot of gamers don't like the third person view.
We're obviously going to disagree on this though. You think the follow mode is dumbing the game down and making it automatic. I think it's changing a way a certain function is performed and making it so you can perform it better (not easier. Better.)

Cum again?
Did YOU read it yourself?
It says you just have to use mouse for aiming. YOU don't have to move yourself, your movements are automatic after the leader.
What is the point of a tactical game for you?
If you find it too difficult to cover your ass while advancing, then I don't know... you're either too lazy or dumb for that...
