I am, but considering how this has no destruction whatsoever compared to Stranglehold (while both running on the same console hardware), there is no excuse why it looks the way it looks. Wink (of course there is an excuse - UE2.5) Laughing
Also, don't forget this is a 2010 game, while Stranglehold is a 2007 game. Mass Effect 2 looks miles ahead of this poop, and it still runs on same hardware. Wink

In fact, ME 2 never dipped under 60 fps for me maxed out. Why? Because the UE3 introduced a lot of new stuff, and shifted many of the things done on the CPU in UE 2+ to the GPU.

It's not just that. BioShock 1 & 2 are also UE2 and have none of issues this and DA had. It's just Ubisoft's incompetence to properly modify the engine. The did very good with Chaos Theory, it was amazingly optimized for the graphics it displayed (it looks better than both DA and Conviction, but models are with lower poly counts). But you can't just slap more and more patch jobs to an engine that is not equipped for all this crap. I have no idea why they are even using this engine. They did a development reset and scraped all code available; so why not just take the engine of Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and add on that? They could have done a much better job with that.

They were probably trying to cut down on costs. UE3 can cost you an arm and a leg, and they made the calculus. People would still buy it like this, especially with favorable reviews for the console version. Then, they can change the engine for the next one, advertise the change, and low and behold, people will hate them no more (if they even remember the tricks up to this point).

Bioshock was different, they did a lot of optimizations.

What I don't get is, with coders on the AC team, who did a fairly good job for open world, especially with AC2, how the hell couldn't the same parent company send a few memos.

I mean conviction is horrible. And physics tics (physics FPS of the game ... mostly done by the CPU) affects mouse input. I mean what the fucking fuck?! All GOOD shooter get out of their way, to make sure, that even if a few frames skip, the mouse movement is recorded to turn in the right direction.

Complete tardarses!

It has probably more to do with the method they emulate the analog input to the mouse. Judging by the dumb acceleration, they are converting mouse input to analog relative. The aimbot behavior supports this educated guess. So they probably do this inside the same place they do the physics calculations, so they get swollen together. Smile

Yes, I forgot to be more specific, but yes, the conversion is there. I borrowed my friends gaming pad just to test this game with it. After a few tests in a variety of physics demanding situations, I have come to the conclusion, that the movement is consistent (although with acceleration). Meaning assuming the acceleration multiplier and analog stick distance moved is the same, the same turn was achieved regardless of current physics FPS.

All this points to you being very correct in your assumption, the conversion from mouse input to simulated gamepad activities takes place during the physics tics. In CPU heavy moments the input was really fubar'd.

Anyway, sloppy programing. I just about had enough of not a single game releasing without a mouse problem. How come good FPS developers like Valve (whom I started off hating for steam, but have grown to love for polish and originality) can make FPS feel god damn great?!

By using 6 year old engine? Laughing I mean, come on, the Source engine looks awful even by console standards. It looks good in TF2 but that is because of the style. It wasn't a looker even when it was released, but could hold its grounds, but these days, eh. Also, let's not forget the Left 4 Dead 2 fiasco. What should have been a DLC at best for the first game turn out to be a full-priced game at the hands of EA. Episode 3 is not coming, and why should it? They can spew rehashes of the same game yearly, and people would churn money. This is no-better than the MW2 DLC in my opinion. So Valve is hardly the posterboy of PC gaming. Wink

Only thing I didn't like about this is they took away the ability to move and hide bodies. You cannot drag them to hide them.Other then that I was very satisfied with the game. The storyline was great and left us hanging for the sequel.I did not encounter any bugs or glitches and the graphics were fine.

Yeah, I liked the story as well. No matter how many times one person can post his hateful opinion on it. Of which I can easily come up with multiple reasons to each point he puts across.

I just installed this, tried it with the Skidrow crack (no patches whatsoever) and it kinda crashes every now and then (twice in the museum already)

Any new patches/cracks to fix the crashing?
Also, fill me up on MP details,I tried the split screen coop on the 360 but I wanted to know how it handles on the PC (and which crack do I need,if it's playable online without the need for hamachi)

For multiplayer you gotta use either the multiplayer fix or the 1.2 patch rls from Skidrow , and some people claim that matchmaking actually works , yet for me it never did. The only way i managed to play is via private matches and invites.

Cool Face

Besides, I just quoted my previous post, it's not like I wrote it again.

And I WOULD enjoy the game if the story, gameplay, or ANYTHING was at least PLAUSIBLE, like any Tom Clancy's games were. Just like all previous Splinter Cells.

And too bad I'm not a like mr. Lfctony here.

Well, I'm waiting. I have not seen one person to try to justify the bullshit and completely HORRIBLE story in SCC.

The story was fucking awful and unbelievable, even for a game like this. Duhhhhh I wonder if bringing his stupid daughter into a potential warzone just to have some forced emotionally contrived reunion is a good idea
lol wut

But story is really one of the last things to bitch about when it comes to this one.

Is it just the crack being patched or the whole game?

It's a whole game update , does some optimizations and that sort of thing ( and i am no longer able to use 1280x1024 for some god forsaken reason ) but you might need it if you are going to use matchmaking system in order to get a multiplayer partner.

Meh,tried it and it still crashes (that's 4 crashes so far,2 in the museum and 2 in the amusement park),I guess I'll just play it on the 360 and use the PC version only for a few coop matches with friends, since my console's banned

I just managed to get the infiltration mode. Make a Uplay account, go to Uplay in the main menu, start it up. Then go to Win->Rewards. You can get the infiltration mode, Wallpaper, the SCAR and a suit for some ubi points. The gun sucks it has no silencer, better to get the infiltration mode. After its activated go back to the game and you can choose infiltration mode in the Deniable Ops screen. But don't forget to edit skidrow.ini before starting the game and enter your Uplay username/pw or else it won't appear.

Thanks dude , worked like a charm. I don't get why they had to use two menus for unlockables ( extras and uplay ).
