So my only option was going for the witty white lie.
But that required 50 Speech, and my skill was only 33. I had Mentats (+1 CHR, among other stuff) and Meeting People (temporary +10 Speech boost) in my inventory, and that was enough to reach 45. Not enough, so I started scrounging around. I couldn't leave Hidden Valley since I had the explosive collar around my neck. So I found Dobson had a bottle of whiskey (+1 CHR, among other stuff) by the campfire, and another bunker in the area had a suitcase, next to two skeletons, with pre-war sexy sleepwear (+1 CHR) in it.
The result? 49 Speech. FORTY-NINE SPEECH! Fuck you, game!
I cheated and temporarily gave myself that extra point, because fuck it all. |

Guys I really really wanna give Fallout 3 another chance. Someone recommend me a good weapon mod that greatly improves weapon damage and makes handling weapons based on the players skill rather than how much skill you put into guns/energy weapons etc
I tried the complete overhaul mods but I still didnt like the weapon damage.

Just encountered the Legion detachment at Nipton. Was outnumbered about 5 or 6 to one, but told them to piss off.
Too bad for them that I had Annabelle with me, so the outcome of that fight was explosive.
BTW, am I the only one that feels that the game's locations are too "bare" and small when compared to Fallout 3?
That's my only gripe with this game so far, but I guess it's understandable since Fallout 3 spent ~4 years in the making and New Vegas only about 2.

I thought the whole scenario in Nipton was fucking chilling. Especially the way the Legion kept describing what they had done to the town. That "Lottery" was sadistic, especially when you see the heads on pikes and people burning, as well as the corpses strewn about the place.
Disturbing.
I LOVE IT!

Have to say, the ammo crafting is very disappoitning. Especially the Hand Loader perk. It only gives you about 4 more ammo types to craft.
They should've let you craft any kind of ammo with the perk. Hell, lots of calibres don't even let you craft their basic AP and JHP (5.56 comes to mind).

Not to mention it's practically impossible to find certain ammo primers. I've been looking for Large Pistol primers for the entire GAME so far .. so I'm not sure if it becomes more prevalent in The Strip, but out in the wasteland? They're practically impossible to find.

I must say, that while iron sights are kinda cool, I aim much easier with them turned off.
Not to mention that sights aren't really well placed for some rifles, like caravan shotgun.
Also, energy weapons are missing iron sights mode, which is kinda strange (in 3rd person view you clearly see your character is aiming just like with other weapons).

I remember someone mentioning that after about 72 hours (is that game hours?) the "unsecured" items will disappear? So if I had some "trash" items I wanted to get rid of, I could just drop them and at some point they would be gone, right?
Does the same thing happen with bodies as well?

Even in one of those shacks out in the open that were inhabited by 2 raiders you'd find more items than, for example, in the hotel at Primm. Or maybe this is from playing in the hardcore mode?
Oh, and the most of the locations found through the wasteland feel much smaller.
Hard to explain.

I love the metallic cling/clang sounds when bullets futilely hit my power armor.
I just hope there's something better in the game than the T51-B. I think I just might be maxed out gear-wise with that and the gauss rifle, anti-material rifle, the super-sledge and the minigun, not counting unique versions of said weapons. Never was too keen of energy weapons, they lack the subjective oomph of good old-fashioned boomsticks. I haven't seen any mention of the enclave outside ED-E in 50+ hours of gameplay so my hopes for advanced power armor aren't high.
It seems JHP ammo is basically useless. Anything without armor is pretty much 1-shot by normal ammo anyway, and anything with armor scoffs at JHP. Armor piercing is available enough to use 24/7 anyway and it does 95% of normal ammo's damage on unarmored targets too. Seems a bit unbalanced, especially seeing as pretty much everything has armor, even creatures that seem naked.
The minigun is definitely my favorite weapon. Especially when zounds of crappy equipped fiends swarm me. Just press down the trigger and when the clip is out, all you have left is a bloody mess of mutilated bodies.
If I was power-gaming though, all I'd ever use is the super-sledge. OP Melee FTL.

You can get rid of the microstuttering every second or so by setting ifps=60 and ifpsclamp=1, however if the game ever drops from 60fps, you get actual slowmotion. Another trick is to set ifps=30 ( and ifpsclamp=1 ) and use framerate limiter 0.2 to limit fps to 30. This way you get 30fps constant without microstuttering and it's easier to hold than 60fps.
Changing fallout.ini doesn't seem to affect anything, but when I did the changes in falloutprefs.ini it worked. |
if i do that at all for testing, it makes me move at incredibly fast speeds and the npc's i can cover the map in seconds and sky is moving at 100000 miles an hour lol.. and funny enough its all smooth hahaha wtf..
this might be cause im in window mode not sure..

^^ That would mean your framerate is higher than what you set for ifps. You need to limit your framerate to whatever the ifps is.
EDIT: Hold up, looks like it works differently than in FO3. My apologies for not testing properly and assuming it's the same for New Vegas.
EDIT2: Apparently, you're supposed to just insert your desired framerate straight to ifpsclamp. I set that to 60, and the game is running normal speed at 60fps without microstuttering.

Are you talking about the terminals in the Server Room? Those are nonfunctional for a reason, it's part of a mini-game/quest.

Is there any way to enable Wild Wasteland trait (via console?) without starting a new game? I didn't pick it and now I feel like missing something fun.

This made my game a hell of a lot smoother and now stuttering is much lower when moving from one cell to another .
Thanks dude.
