Some rumors have surfaced about the new Call of Duty game, thought I might collect it in this thread until we have some solid info.
thisisxbox.com wrote: |
A source within the industry who has previously leaked other information when I was writing for Xboxic (leaks include confirming Black Op's March 2010, Naming Kinect before E3 May 2010, First Gears 3 Images April 2010, amongst others) has informed me that an upcoming Call of Duty title from Infinity Ward will not be created on an all new game engine, and will not be released this year under the title of Modern Warfare 3!
It has been alleged that Infinity Ward are creating a game that will focus on the character Ghost who first appeared in Modern Warfare 2, this game will centre around the events leading up to the war in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare as a prequel, and then further reveal how Ghost first became a member of Task Force 141 based on the comic book stories written by David Lapham. In various parts of the game that will focus on the life of Ghost - players will revisit locations from both Call of Duty 4 and Modern Warfare 2, but this time from a different viewpoint.
Although entirely a rumour - the game is meant to be in development on the Modern Warfare 2 engine. Robert Bowling (Infinity Ward's Community Manager) was contacted, but has neither confirmed or denied the rumours.
When an official announcement from both Activision and Infinity Ward is made regarding the Call of Duty title currently in development - we'll be sure to post it. |

bluesnews.com wrote: | A rumor that Raven Software is developing an upcoming game in the Call of Duty series is reported on Kotaku, where they attribute this to a "source close" to the Activision-owned studio. This harkens back to a rumor that a third developer was involved with the series from last November, well before the Infinity Ward implosion and the announcement of Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops. This same report also says that Raven's other projects, a James Bond game and an X-Men game, are each now on hold, referring to Singularity as "complete." Thanks nin.

bluesnews.com wrote: | A help wanted ad from Raven Software for a Lead FX Artist adds further credence to the rumor that the Activision-owned studio is working on a Call of Duty game. Word is: "Raven Software, developer of numerous award-winning games, including X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Wolfenstein and Singularity, is seeking a lead visual effects artist to drive the development of stunning visual effects for an established console-based, realistic, first-person military shooter." Thanks MCV, where they note that the Call of Duty series is Activision's only series that fits that description. |

Raven? Oh well, at least they can't be as bad as Treyarch. I bought Black Ops and I wish I hadn't, I have never encountered a game that stuttered and froze as much as this in all my life. Fucking Crysis, on maxium settings, never stuttered and froze as much as this.
(yes, yes... I know it runs perfectly for everyone else... whatever you say guys, whatever you say, yawn)

I enjoyed Wolf and Singularity quite a bit as well. I thought both were well made FPS's.

Hmm did you try to prioritize steam according to those instructions I gave? It seems odd to say at least, sounds like something is overheating, hows your temps?

My temps are fine, card never goes above 54 and processor is the same - mid 50s. I set Steam and BO to run in LP mode and it still doesn't work.

That current Call Of Duty stutters like hell for me too. Just randomly between smooth seconds. Even in the menu.
I was pretty sure that it's kinda normal for this game for a lot of people (not saying the majority or anything)
