I know the command from FarCry and Crysis 1
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"

sys_EarlyMovieUpdate
0 needed for game, 1 better for having artifact free movie playback
Usage: sys_EarlyMovieUpdate [0/1]
Default is 0
For the people that have stutter issues withthe dev build this could solve it (i didn't have the problem myself running a Sapphire Toxic HD 5870 2GB edition)

...?
Is this typical PR BS or probably something that was added(or wasn't ready) in the leaked beta?
One more reason to play it again when the retail is out.

BTW, a comment from the Eurogamer preview: | Quote: | | I'm just going to point out that from the stats I've seen, only 10,000 people downloaded it (this being from last week so that number is probably up by about 50). |
He has STATS!
From the number of people who download shit in the internets!

I am going to try beta out. Any tips? Or does it just works?

1) Use the 32bit exe
2) Edit the system.cfg line:
r_ShadersRemoteCompiler=1
to
r_ShadersRemoteCompiler=0
But it's best if you wait for the retail..

lol. thx. I will wait for full game ofc. Just Want to check this out as a beta and performance wise. Betas are always funny and have some stuff that don't get to retail version.
Anyone maybe have old pre 2004 Painkiller alpha?

Thought I'd post this here as I don't think I've seen the same info posted in this thread. Taken from another forum:

Keyboard Mapping
The key mapping can be changed by editing .\GameCrysis2\Libs\Config\defaultProfile.xml. This file is always loaded when Crysis 2 starts so you can forget about %UserProfile%\Saved Games\Crysis2\Profiles\default\actionmaps.xml, it's always overwritten by the same 34 byte gobbledygook as soon as you start a game or just start and quit from Crysis 2. So just edit .\GameCrysis2\Libs\Config\defaultProfile.xml.
A word of caution on the loadActionMaps command: The commands
menu_toggle_customizeweapon
menu_toggle_customizeperks
menu_toggle_barrel
menu_toggle_bottom
menu_toggle_scope
fail to be recognized when an action map is loaded with loadActionMaps. So just forget about loadActionMaps and edit .\GameCrysis2\Libs\Config\defaultProfile.xml since when Crysis 2 loads that file on startup (which apparently is not done with loadActionMaps since it works) there's not a problem with any of those commands.
Other
As usual .pak files can be extracted in their location.
The intro files (remove them to remove the intro) are:
.\GameCrysis2\Videos\EA_Sig.usm
.\GameCrysis2\Videos\Crytek_logo.usm
.\GameCrysis2\Videos\CryEngine3.usm
User settings are saved in %UserProfile%\Saved Games\Crysis2
Default settings are in .\GameCrysis2\Libs\Config
The %UserProfile%\Saved Games\Crysis2\Profiles\default\*.xml files are encrypted with the only plausible explanation to impede manual changes to the files and instead force you to use the load* commands.
These weapons have a missing/incorrect shooting sound:
AY69
Heavy_minigun
SCAR
SCARAB
possibly because they don't appear in the regular game levels. |
Also I'd like to add, AutoHotKey was mentioned as an alternative method of remapping the keys, whilst this is true, it takes a little bit of time to set up.
Here's a simple script I've been using for it:
| Code: | #MaxThreadsPerHotkey, 3 ; Need this to allow two key press threads to run at same time
#IfWinActive, ahk_class CryENGINE
up::w ; Forward
down::s ; Back
left::a ; Left
right::d ; Right
RCtrl::Space ; Jump
Numpad0::c ; Crouch
RShift::LShift ; Sprint
Numpad1::v ; Melee
#IfWinActive
^!s::Suspend ; Press Ctrl+Alt+S to Suspend. Press it again to resume. |
What this script does is basically map the cursor keys to WASD and other keys around it that I use when the game is running. Yes, I'm a noob for not using WASD. You can of course change the keys to your liking, use the key list here and the online documentation to help writing the script.

At least considering my script:
LShift::c
u::MButton
y::LShift
t::2
v::q
q::v

Valve added Steam ids for Crysis 2, so soon it'll be available for pre-purchase.
