Yeah, that's why it's being released for PC before they even start on any console version.

A true PC game should require a triple GPU solution. This will run with a HD4850? Puh, will look like shit.

Rolling Eyes

Moron.

No need to insult. Rolling Eyes

The developers have already stated that they are keeping the design of the game such that should they want to, they could make a console game out of it.

Well, PC is still the leading platform... There are already signs of the console, like no top-down perspective and much more focus on the action, but still doubt it's anywhere to the DA2 level of shit.

The Witcher 3, however... Something awesome has to happen... Cool Face

i actually much preferred the OTS view for witcher. its a singular character game, not a tactical one, so i wont miss the iso view.. hell, never used it in the first one anyway - it definately didnt need it.

I'm with chiv on this... I never used the isometric view in Witcher, only over the shoulder. Well, except in the spider lair b/c I was scared. Surprised

It's kinda weird. Minimum card is steep (8800), but recommended is relatively low (4850).

But performance difference between 8800gt and 4850 is hardly big. Yet one is low and other recommended.

P.S.
I have 4850 too. Very Happy
Still playing most of the games on highest settings. Although I have 19" 1280x1024 monitor, so that helps a bit. Razz

I think you're mistaken there. I went from a 8800GT to a HD4850, the HD4850 is almost twice as fast.

That's a bold statement. The diffrence is about 15-20% though.

It felt like twice as fast Sad Based on reviews and so forth and some experience the HD4850 should be 50-60% faster. It really depends on resolution though, the HD4850 takes the lead easily when higher resolutions are used. The 8800GT was a very good card, the best price/performance card in its generation. Up the resolution and enable some AF and AA though, the 8800GT is nowehere near the HD4850.
The point is that the distance between the two cards is quite big so listing 8800GT as the minimum and the HD4850 as recommended isn't very strange.
It's also important how you judge it of course. Nvidia has always been much better with 3Dmark afaik because they use some tricks and optimizations aimed at that app.

Here you go: a 4850 review - included are also chart comparisons with the 8800GT.

Make sure to browse multiple pages/games to see how they behave in different games/engines.
_____

I think there is a small typo or smtg in those recommended specs. The 4850 is VERY close to the 8800GT. Unless this game favors a "certain" brand, it makes little sense to take those specs very serious.

Strange comparison.

I got the newsletter as well (But deleted it, should have taken a image seeing this discussion.)

Recommended ATI GPU was a 4850, NVIDIA a 260

Minimum was a 8800 GT for NVIDIA and a 3850 for ATI.

The playing cards look nice actually, but I wonder if they won't be just some cheap plastic ones. :\
