Like I said, I'd kill for it. An open world game, where perhaps stealth would be most important, otherwise you get agents on you. I know there were three matrix games even, but none of them captured the feeling, yet I think this IP could be grand for a good single player stealth RPG of some sort. I still need to think out the details, but I'd pay 100$ easy for a good Matrix game.

Sadly the Matrix IP is dead.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."

"a phenomenon."

I enjoyed that "path of neo" game, had decent combat.
Also liked Matrix Online (!GASP!) when they had free-offers, too bad it was shut down.

It's very hard to achieve what you're asking for (an underpified open world game with proper stealth mechanics and the intact Matrix atmosphere), especially today, with the "awesome button" generation and derps everywhere.
(On a side note, It's not Matrix, but Batman Arkham City kinda looks similar to this "concept", let's hope it will turn out as good as it sounds.)

Nah, I don't want new matrix films (this soon) because they would ruin the trilogy. However there are so many other ways to keep the IP alive (comics, games, TV series, books, etc etc) but WB isn't interested at all it seems. Even the official website: http://whatisthematrix.warnerbros.com/ which was considered innovative back in the day has been removed.

It had the setting to be the coolest pc game ever based on a movie, why it didn't I don't know.

It's probably all for the best... if it came out now it'd probably be console only where 'something awesome happens every time you press any button'....

They are not that bad, it's just that they were rushed into production to shoot both of them ASAP together. If you read the earlier 1996 & 1997 drafts of the original Matrix and finally the 1998 shooting script you'll find out that while the core storyline remained the same each newer revision improved significantly the dialogue, characterization, etc. Also note that there are even earlier drafts (which aren't publicly available though) from 1994..
That didn't happen with the sequels that were released in 2003 but had their scripts written in 2000-2001, directly after the original was released mid-1999, with no chance to improve them again and again over time. But the core of the plot is good IMO.

I think Reloaded was pretty good, the talk with the Architect, I didn't see that coming, it seemed like a pretty good twist and believable.
Revolutions is where the problems were, too much "real word" action, too little matrix philosophy.
The thing that redeemed it for me though, was that this time around, humanity in Zion was able to remain free, not only because of love (the trivial answer to the movie) - but because of Agent Smith, and the bargaining chip he became for Neo vs. The Source. That part was brilliant.

I agree that it was a mistake to make Revolutions take place in the real world for the most part of the movie. But the sequels definitely had moments of brilliance and some great new characters.
The Oracle scenes were great IMO in both films, even though Revolutions had a new actress. The Architect scene was well.. perfect. The Merovingian scenes were great in both films. Bane in Revolutions? Fucking awesome! The Deus Ex Machina encounter was great as well.
But there were many other characters introduced that were pretty weak/pointless.. The Kid, the Trainman, Persephone, Charra.. meh...
I don't mind the so called "lack of answers" in the third movie, I believe it answered what had to be answered in its own way (mostly via its visual language and symbolism).

At least they want Nolan instead of say.. Michael Bay to direct it.. Nolan has made some great mainstream (Batman, etc) and non-mainstream (Memento, Following) movies.. http://www.movieweb.com/news/christopher-nolan-wanted-for-blade-runner-sequel-or-prequel

True. Sadly, not even Scott himself would do a proper job these days.

It's not like Blade Runner was universally appreciated when it was released.. It was called slow, with weak plot, etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blade_Runner#Reception
The Wachowskis have actually said about BR:
Quote: | Q: Any influence from Blade Runner?
WachowskiBros: Blade Runner was a benchmark science fiction film, a masterpiece. Of course there's influence. But we were like the only guys who liked that movie when we saw it, everyone else hated it. |

but in time it gathered more and more fans . sadly i don't think bringing a sequel would broader the fan base
instead it would just a good movie that came out some year
BR as a singular movie has more charm than the sequel would be .

Blade Runner was definitely too cutting-edge and innovative for those times, people were probably expecting the typical action-oriented Sci-fi movie with tons of explosions...I mean, it's not like today...oh wait.
