Not recommended. You'll probably also lose all Ego upgrades that way too, after restarting the game.
Anyway, it's not difficult just to find skidrow crack only.

I finished the game using the RZR release and had no problems with saved games and/or ego upgrades.

Some reviewers have said it's 10-12 hours. So, yeah maybe it's not 3x a CoD title, but I don't believe it's only 6 hours!! Come on! |
The demo is only 10-20 minutes, so it makes sense that the whole game would take maybe a little more than 7 hours.
Seems my assumptions were right.

True, it was already available on usenet.
In order to continue the campaign I had to copy last.sav and last.dcp from my ..\Duke Nukem Forever\System folder to C:\Users\..\AppData\Local\SKIDROW\57900\Storage and I was good to go.

I tried that too, but it fucked up the controls of the game. Some keys weren't working anymore so I switched back to razor's crack.

I'm ~3 hours in and I'm surprisingly not disliking it. The game has tonnes of flaws, very mediocre graphics and imperfect shooting mechanics (including the rather imprecise mouse controls and two-weapons limit/health regen for derps)...but it's quite fun.
Obviously it's neither a great game nor a worthy successor of Duke3D, but at least I'm finding it much more fun than the demo (which ironically contained two of the most uninspired levels of the whole game  ).
A fail? Yes, but everything went slightly better than expected..

Have you tried to reset the key bindings?
(Might be that it saves the data to some Skidrow folder instead of Razor - Steam Cloud support titles normally using a specific Steam folder which is bypassed via these modifications and thus alternatives are used.)

Finished it not so long ago and all i can say is it's az outdated game in every aspect you can think of. Also finished it with maxed out ego played all the mini games no rush at all in about 7 hrs it was over. In the playthrough i was bored, sometimes pissed and raging (especially in water sequences) but not one moment was like "whoa that was good". Huge disappointment for me.

hmmm
using just the SR folder stuff with the Razor release...
sure the saves don't vanish (they never did here i have it installed on D)
and the ego points stay....
but now the load times are CRAZY long
shoullda stuck with razor as i din really need the ego as the game is pretty damn easy
sigh

1. Another typo error in their nfo, the save folder is 57900 not 59700.
2. Can't copy the system.ini and user.ini files from one folder to another, one is in unicode and the other not and it won't load.
3. Dukevision stop working
4. Ammo refill stop refilling your rocket ammunition. I'm at the "Queen Bitch" boss and it's now impossible to kill her.
5. Loading times are much longer on skidrow release.
edit: Reverted the Razor crack and everything began to work great again. NUKE THIS SKIDROW SHIT! Unnuke Razor! Give credits to the proper people!

I got that file format issue from the demo, started the game and set the in-game options, quit and opened "C:\Games\Steam\userdata\STEAM_ID\57900\remote\system.ini" and tested some stuff, made a copy afterwards to system_.ini
Started the game and found nothing had changed, used Winmerge to compare system.ini with system_.ini and the file format warning prompted that one was LTF something or what it was called and the other in Unicode.
Made changing or altering any data impossible as the file "reset" for a lack of better word.
EDIT: Still as I mentioned I think (I can't be sure of course.) it's a key bind conflict, perhaps due to what I wrote above.
system.ini contains the options and user.ini the key bindings (And what tutorial hints you've seen as to not show them again, these aren't the load screen tips by the way.)
Both can be deleted without hampering in game progress. 
(Progress is saved via those three other files, last.sav for resuming the latest checkpoint I guess, meta.dnp for profile info and progress and last.dcp for the actual checkpoint.)
(EDIT: And progress.ini which is encrypted.)

Meh, just finished the game with the Razor release. Didn't think it was worth it to start messing with the Skidrow fix and potentially lose all the progress. Ego not saving isn't really game breaking and I don't have any desire to replay any of the levels. Uninstall.

I take it you playing from a fresh save and not resuming a previous one after using Skidrows crack?

i have skidrow release and Rocket launcher is refilling fine -only problem is dukevision

Yes I tried that, but even when binding to a different key dukevision just won't work anymore. I hope it won't be a problem to finish the game, I've rarely used it so far.
No problem with longer loading times or rocket ammo refill though.
About the game, I find it gets much more fun as soon as you get to Duke Burger.

No I'm not, if you would read a bit point #1 and point #2 are about transferring the savegame from razor to skidrow, as they mentioned we can do in the .nfo. Skidrow fails as usual.

1. Oh no, not a typo.
2. True. So don't copy those files and worst case you have to set up your keys again.
3. Dukevision works fine.
4. Ammo refill works fine.
5. Razor loading times were over a minute for every level transition or death. Skidrow loads in 5-10 seconds max.
There's no way that "everything works great again" after reverting to the rzr crack unless you intend to play the game all the way through in one sitting. As soon as you quit and re-run the game you will lose all the Ego bonuses you picked up along the way. (I'm sure someone with an extremely high tolerance for shitty games could beat it in one sitting though, given its rather brief length, but I'd still rather have a crack that lets me replay chapters if I'm ever feeling that masochistic.)

Yes, just read the nfo. Don't copy over the ini files and do note that the correct directory is 57900 and not 59700. Better yet, don't bother copying over any files and just start a new game, since your old game will have lost all the Ego upgrades you picked up along the way.

WTF are you using a x486 with 8 megs or ram?? :\
On reloaded release the loading times are around 15 to 20 secs, nothing more then the average these days in games.

reloaded? You meant razor. Mine are about 2-3 seconds on razor.
