"Amazing" performance with my GTX 460, as in it's still very playable.
Although noticeably reduced, at 720p, the framerate is above 30 so far and quite often above 60.
The texture upgrade makes a huge difference (although I've noticed an incredible bad texture that I can't believe they haven't replaced yet!! but the rest were great), everything looks sharper. PoM is also nice, as is the improved tonemapping, I love the new contrast.
Their AA seems retuned, it's not as blurry as I remember it. It works pretty good IMO now.
But the rest of the effects are hit or miss, I'm afraid
The new bokeh DoF blurs so much the background to the point I'm seeing less information than I'd like, and I'm sure less than what they intended when they were building the game. The tessellated terrain had z-fighting issues in one place. And I think I saw some ugly halo artifacts from AO in one scene.
The good news is that the most obvious upgrade, the textures, run in dx9 as well, and they shouldn't slow down the game at all, so at the very least we have that.

YES! looks exactly like that
Tesellation layer on top and original textures on the bottom.
I didnt know how to describe it but thats exactly it in the link you provided. I dont like it one bit, looks very unnatural and weird. Except for the tessellation, the game looks good

I was thinking of either trying the texture upgrade + DX9 or the DX11 mode keeping the regular textures.
I doubt that I'll have an acceptable performance with both.
I'll know tomorrow.

It seems that half of the times I load a saved game the game crashes for me.
I didn't have this issue with the previous versions.. do we need a crackfix?
edit oh, it seems that it's the same issue that SR says the retail game has.

Yea save games aren't loading for me either. Crashes to desktop. My saves are from when I started a new game a few minutes ago, not from any previous version

This happens to me as well. I have to load it up from the chapter select screen.
And performance wise, maybe my GTX460 768 MB isn't cutting it for the texture pack. I have more stuttering than normal. Otherwise, it's very playable alright. It also noticeably slows down during firefights, as those new particle effects from bullet impacts are quite draining.

"Amazing" performance hit with my GTX 480, as in it's very unplayable.
Although virtually no noticeable graphic improvements, at 1920x1200, the framerate is below 30 so far and quite rarely above 40.
The texture upgrade makes no difference (although I've noticed a good texture here and there that I can't believe they didn't include from the get go!! but the rest were awful), everything looks exactly the same. PoM is also useless, as is the improved (nonexistent) tonemapping, I love the same contrast.
Their AA seems exactly the same, it's as blurry as I remember it. It works pretty similar IMO now.
But the rest of the effects are miss and miss, I'm content
The new bokeh DoF blurs so much the background to the point I'm seeing less information than I'd like, and I'm sure less than what they intended when they were building the game. The tessellated terrain had z-fighting issues in many places. And I think I saw some ugly halo artifacts from AO in some scenes. Motion blurred particles slow the game to a crawl for virtually unnoticeable improvement.
The sad news is that the most obvious gift to hardcore gamers, the Crysis 2 DX11 patch, runs like shit and is useless, and should slow down the game to unbearable performance, so we don't have even that. Crysis 1 still looks better and runs so much better.

Oh, the game also crashes after every time I die too. Any time I try to load a game in progress, really. Is there any fix for this?

I think the save crashing is due to bad crack (wait for PROPER REPACKSHIT ).

Save loading is a problem with the patch as from discussion on the official forums, it matters little though as you can just replay the last level you unlocked and bypass this limitation, unsure about the rest.
(More specifically it's a DX11 issue supposedly but I can't check that due to that I'm on a 4890 GPU.)
EDIT: There's a number of other bugs and issues also plus several problems with the editor but it's being looked into.

But it haz DX11 and bokeh and moshun blur particles and "high" low res textures and water fizikz!!
A special comment on the water. The original had oceans full of FFT generated water simulation (this is the CGI industry standard method of simulating oceans - see Titanic, Water World, Perfect Storm for reference) with complete physics-based geometry waves, all running on the CPU at full speed. Crysis 2 needs DX11 for that (DirectCompute), which is supposed to be massively faster to compute due to much better parallelism, yet the tiny amounts of water that are present in this game (I used Rat Lab for my testing) look nowhere near as impressive, the water "physics" are limited to tiny splashes and some water waving. Any "complex" interactions with the water (like, say, throwing two barrels in and letting them float ) and everything slows to a halt on a 4GHz i7 + 480GTX. This is pathetic.

The ATI 6990 performs quite well with DX11 + High Res.
The only issue, while its often around 50fps (vsynced at 50hz), looking at certain things will often bring the FPS down to 35-40fps, and when you are running around, it goes 40, then 50, then 40 etc, really frustrating to play.
Haven't put on the OC BIOS yet though, but I have a feeling I need a DX11 driver update or CAP first.

Even GTX 460-480 do have those frame drops. I have a GTX 485M 2GB and even i get those frame drops.

As i mentioned lots of pages back, for me on a GTX580 it crashes to desktop in about 5mins of gameplay without any error message just shuts my monitor to blackscreen, sound keeps on playing and in task manager the crysis 2 process "not responding". Bought game not cracked. Happens only in dx11 mode. Noone could help me with this issue except "play in dx9" from ea chatsupport.....

Updated to 2.0, now utilizing mod functionality to work with 1.9 plus a number of texture replacements and other updates.
