I watched it as well, but I didn't expect otherwise from the game.

That doesn't change my point. It *was* two DVDs and it *was* cut down *because* of the 360 limitations, which they openly admitted were not limitations on the PC and PS3.

Well in the keynote he touches this subject quite extensively.
They didn't care much about storage at first, focusing on the PC, but when they discovered just how limited the consoles are they had to rethink. Their solution basically meant that all of their textures got scaled down and compressed badly, which is what I've said about the videos. All the shit on the walls, and even the ground close to you, just look bad. I won't get into the numbers here, but you gotta think between 20 to 40 times smaller.
The PS3 does have the superior storage solution with its BD, but that probably wouldn't have solved much because that is the most RAM limited platform and its optical drive is also the one with the lowest throughput. They already had to fall back to using disk cache, and while there's things he wishes they had done slightly different, that's still a massive slowdown from using RAM as cache. The 360 and PS3 are equally shit, where one has more storage, the other has more RAM available. The typical PC has at least 8-10 times more available of both, let alone processing power, access speeds, etcetera.

Mate, I miss the days where PC games came first and then watered down ports filtered out for console hardware. HL2 and Doom 3 were made, first and foremost, for the PC -- and the PORTED to the consoles later. Instead of being the other way around where the only ones to suffer are PC owners.

If he's so concerned about that on consoles, I wonder if the PS3 version of RAGE is going to support keyboard and mouse. Afterall, Sony have allowed that from the start - it's up to developers if they want to use it or not.
