Not really. It was probably in production before dlc was released.

Oh ffs, the diplomacy is pissing me off. How many times can the AI betray right in the middle of a war? Three fucking times. I forge alliances spanning fucking millenia, we go to war together and bam, right in teh middle of it "HAHA suck it motherfucker, I'm turning on you while all your troops are away". Three times with three different leaders in a single game. I understand it could happen, but this is plain ridiculous.

It was probably already in post-production, when those two DLCs were developed.

I was always an avid Civ player but this version just didnt do it for me.
How is the game nowadays after patches and more importantly how are the mods for this? I always liked the Rise Of Mankind Mod for Civ4.

This is still the second most played game on Steam at the moment according to their stats (Behind Team Fortress 2)
And its steady @ 4 the rest of the time (Behind Team Fortress 2 and both Counter Strikes)

You just missed it fairly cheap on the Steam Autumn Sale. It depends how soon you want it - it'll almost certainly be on offer again during the Steam Christmas Sale, but that's not for another 3 weeks. Not sure where the cheapest place to buy it now is, though, sorry.

nothing of interest for me in that patch... fixing multiplayer they say...
who plays this game in multiplayer? and what about the horrendous single player on relative big maps? and what about diplomacy?

Its pretty atrocious that they after over 1 year still are working on making the multiplayer stable. What about all thats missing from multiplayer? But at this point people are just so desperate and cling to whatever they can get.

It's Civ we're talking about, takes at least a year to have something even remotely playable.

Both yes and no catoon. Because the game should not have been it such a bad state when released, and over a year after. But I guess fair play for still working on it, although slow. For some reason I still have hope that in a year or two the game will be decent enough to play and worth the 7 euro I gave for it.
