I actually love what Gamebryo manages to achieve in terms of visuals, but I hate how the games on it run and feel and how the engine works in general.

If they improve the animations (I know, it's almost a mission impossible ) Gamebryo can still look and play good, even today. I've never had problems with it both in terms of performance and "feeling", which is perfect for the RPG genre.
If they decide to make a more action oriented Fallout 4 ( ), the situation would be different though.

After playing the Gothic games so much, it's no wonder I find Gamebryo horrible in terms of those things.

Sorry if this is already discussed, but I have an issue in second hometown first quest called Mutant expansion. I need to plant 4 TNT on walls of blue line station, but I can plant only one. I double checked - I took TNT bundle with 4 bombs, but when I plant the first one, all next bomb sockets (blinking on the walls) are with red cross and I am not able to trigger the detonator. I restarted the whole quest twice. the same problem.
P.S I have 1.1 update, skidrow version. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Sheesh, when's that second update coming? The one where supposedly they use better upscaling so the textures will look sharper.
Getting bored of postponing and soon bf3+skyrim+sr3 = byebye other titles til diablo3.

The Bottom Line
If you are undaunted by the heaps of negative attention this game received at launch and you want to play RAGE anyway, you'll want to do so with an NVIDIA video card for the very best in performance and image quality. It ultimately matters very little as the difference in the gameplay experience was just not that pronounced, but NVIDIA GPUs gave us consistently higher performance even with less expensive video cards. The AMD video cards we used performed well too, but were simply outclassed. If you want to play RAGE on a budget, the Radeon HD 6870 and the GeForce GTX 560 Ti would be great choices. If your budget isn't so lean, pick any current-generation $200 USD+ video card and it's a good bet you'll get the best this game has to offer.
Wow, what a slap in the face of ATI owners....id makes terrible public choices....cash rules...sellout you pricks...Carmack choke on your textures and opengl....

I decided to give it another go after the first update and now new preview catatlyst is rlsed. They fixed most of the problems , but Im not satisfied how game performs and I can see slight texture pop ins. Sometimes game can lag and stutter..it's playable but still..
I really don't know what to do , to continue playing on 360 but with gamepad , or play it with kb and mouse and try to ignore game performance.

@BLaM!: that's strange, before my 4870 imploded on itself the performance was good (50-60fps) and thanks to a custom config the annoying pop-in effect was greatly reduced (with almost no lag). Unfortunately I don't have it anymore since I formatted the PC a couple of days ago :/

When I enter new area it stutters a bit , and then it's smooth...new enemy coming on the screen lags a bit and then smooth again , it's really annoying. I only want smooth gameplay , slight texture pop in is not that bad.. I can only see it when I concentrate on one spot , when you running around it's barely noticeable. I give up , at least I will free 20gb space..
And what card do you have now ? nvidia ?
