Pentium 4 actually, but the stalls are due to disk access and/or mysql not being very efficient, not CPU load.

I am actually getting this most of the time when posting something, seems like the site is timing out in all tabs, but just browsing seems fine for now.

Yeah, that's when it mainly happens; during posting/editing. Browsing is slow from time to time, but the crux of it is definitely during database writes.

Sometimes it takes 30 seconds or so to post here...
But might be that the Battlfield 3 hype is putting a lot of work on the server Very Happy

Yes, it happens when adding to the search database, and it sets locks on the table, so other searches and posts halt too, I've done some things to make it faster, and it should be better than half a year ago, but I don't yet see a way to get rid of the problem all together without too much work.

That's odd H_S, I'm on Chrome 15(.0.874.106 beta-m) and the banner is placed just fine. It was out of place yesterday, but it aligned correctly today. Oh and I'm on Win7-x64 too.

Hmm, intermittent slowness/pause when posting/opening has returned. Sad

Now, it's OK. But since the server change-up, I've noticed the slowness between posting and opening to have returned again. Sad

Same here, I noticed it a couple of minutes ago when replying. I blamed the slow internet at first but I see that I'm not alone

Time to delete threads that haven't seen new posts in 2 years? Or at least archive them? They're only used for necro's anyway. Wink
