If I'm thinking of the correct word that's fairly common in Australia but then a lot of things are common in Australia. Many visiting English friends get quite the surprise.

I don't think so
"Look I have X you don't"
No one gives a shit. If a guy did the same I would feel exactly the same way.

The problem with this situation is it creates a platform for hypocritical derps like Jim Sterling to chime in with their two cents.

"This is the kind of behavior that justifies the FOX News stereotype of the basement dwelling, antisocial nerd."

Hey Jim you're a fat nerd shut your pie hole. Not to mention Jim has said a lot worse things but that's okay because he's bashing gamers. DON'T YOU DARE INSULT PEOPLE WHO WORK IN THE INDUSTRY. FILTHY CONSUMER BASTARDS. In the end most people will forget about it. I don't support people who are blatantly making sexist or hateful remarks but then I don't support companies who insult their target demographic. Let's be honest those people are customers or potential customers or they wouldn't have any interest in bashing the company/company employees.

That's all I have to say on the matter really.

So when do you think a scene release of ME3 will hit? Review copies seem to be already out there, IGN has posted a review in progress...
Chances seem to be good that a release will come soon.

Even all the planets are the same. Watsons codex entry is copied 1:1.
Exodus Cluster and Hades Gamma are in ME1. Only 2 clusters on this early galaxy map are new. (Apien Crest, Kite's Nest)
Bioware recycling again?

No....the Galaxy should have changed between Mass Effect 1 and 2. It's been like what...10 years? Smile

On-topic: WTF did they recycle the probe mini-game. Everyone fucking hated it...couldn't they do a mix between 1 and 2 or something else entirely?!

It's utterly incomprehensible how BioWare, a company that made fucking Baldur's Gate for crying out loud, could stoop so low... could fall so heavily. I didn't think ME2 could get any more "streamlined" (read: dumbed the fuck down) but after playing the demo and seeing that new video, I'm horrified to see just how bad they've gotten. Even DerpAge2 wasn't THIS streamlined.. and that damned thing had five areas recycled to fit 50hrs of gameplay.

Why do the Reapers all look like Sovereign though? I thought each of them were supposed to look like whatever species / race they were made of?

They certainly haven't done anything recently to convince me they are trying to improve on anything. I think it's a gradual strategy of their to see how far they can go making things simpler. Naturally when I say gradual I mean steep descent.

The scan and probe stuff from ME2 was a bit boring after a while, but this...

Couldn't they go back to planet exploring just like on the first game?
Probably saved for some DLC I bet. Laughing

I wasn't following this one much. But I think I remember them saying something about optional questionnaire/comic about past decisions. Same thing was in PS3 version of ME2 and should be usefull for those that don't have old savegames.
Is this still scheduled to be in PC version, or do I need to go for a hunt of some save on on of those ME savegame sites?

You realise of course that it's imperative for the player to experience something awesome as a subsequent action of pushing a button.
This means that some of the "fluff", such as meaningful choices and strategical depth and planning will have to go away as it removes from the awesome experience.
Also Baldurs gate was made during the Black Isle era, and they had a hand in that as well, note the Black Isle logo at the start of the game.

Fair fair. Differing viewpoints. Not trying to drag it out, but I will agree with you over the bolded part - whatever you think, it creates a bad image of gaming/gamers, whether that image is justified or not.

That's why BioWere have got the "Story Mode" -- where you just sit back on the couch, beer in hand, and skip all that pesky fighting and decision making. Progress! >_>

See, I actually have no problem with this. But I don't see any reason why there can't be the total opposite, where there's a ton of choices, RPG elements, and side-quests.

Anyways, EA is losing money hand-over-fist, so with luck something "interesting" will happen with them and their internal studios in the not-so-distant-future. Smile

Wow this game looks fucking horrible. Exact 1-on-1 elements copied from me2 and than derped down into oblivion. The awesome button generation will love this game, and it will probably get raving reviews because 90% of them 'legit' reviewers are on EA's payroll.

Hell, I didn't find it that boring. Loved the small unmarked caches and/or datapads that you would find on some planets too.

All gone with BiowarEA's derp hammering yet another franchise. Sad

Planet scanning and mineral extraction was dull, so let's make it more interesting! Nope, now we just remove the minerals entirely.. but you still have to actually scan! Wee!

Same here, I thought the inventory was absolutely fine .. and I'm also one of the rare few that thoroughly enjoyed the planet exploration. I never found it dull, I found it immensely satisfying. I *liked* that most planets were barren, that reinforced the idea that we're exploring alien worlds, rather than jumping in the jeep for a trek across the Sahara.

The planet exploration in ME1 got stale fast, but it had potential. As with all things Bioware now, removing something is better than improving it.

If they could actually make ME1-styled planet exploration interesting, it would be quite awesome. I suspect it would take a lot of money and development time, though, because let's face it - they would have to make some unique and good content for most of them. Skyrim proves it's possible - since Bethesda was able to take Oblivion's randomized, shitty dungeons and turn them into something worthwile in Skyrim. But TESV was in production for 5 years. And it was made by a studio used to making a lot of content for their games.

Since something like this ain't gonna happen with Bioware, I'll take ME2-styled scanner over ME1 barren and absurdly boring planets anytime. One thing I can agree about, though, is that streamlining it further is definitely not necesarry.
