Man, whoever said this game was hardcore needs their head checked. It's ecchi at best, nothing hardcore about it. It's censored also, but at least not with a mosaic.

the game's "difficulty" isn't overrated, it's just a good clean system. It's evident that it's good because as soon as you learn the game you can repeat it with ease. No RNG no bullshit, it just works. You learn the strategy and you succeed (the most fun part is learning)

Imo it's good game design.

Yes, it is easy to make a game "hard". But Dark Souls is hard, yet not unforgiving. There's no cheap death, if you die you die because you sux. Still though you're able to learn from your misstakes, the misstakes make you better and there lies the beauty.

There's only one part that I felt was unforgiving, and that was the Capra Demon. It was kind of 50/50 that you'll get cornered and die from his rush when you enter the boss room. But other then that I think the game has the perfect balance of being fun and still gives a challenge.

Yeah, thus far I have found the game to be well balanced, the bosses aren't too bad once you learn their patterns i.e. Shadow of the Colossus. And the combat is fluid and quite manageable as long as you keep your wits about you with your stamina. And you don't have to do combos with insane timing requirements like Bayonetta. I'm really glad I rolled a Knight, I boosted Endurance to 40 ASAP with a 100% physical shield and I'm a total brick wall, pwned the Capra Demon w/o even trying.

I dunno about Capra because i've never had a problem with him but I did kind of react in the perfect way the first ever time I did him.

Capra is suppose to be one of those OH FUCK SHIT WTF DO I DO *dead* moments but then after he should become quite easy but it seems alot of people struggle with him for some reason or other... i dunno i never had those problems so i can't comment

I had problems with O&S but that was definitely due to me sucking ass when it comes to multiple bosses

Was hoping to be able to play this on laptop, but even at 720p (and without fix or with on lower settings) i keep having 15 fps locked.. not a single frame higher or lower..

Only ~45-55% usage in total.

And cpu ain't bottlenecking either...

So what the fuck is causing this...
Surely an i3 2310m with a 520m should be able to handle this 1:1 port...

Honestly it's repeating the same areas so many times that must get to the player. The whole thing is just unexplainable. One wrong turn and you're fucked.
The only difficult thing in this game is the awkward controls even on a controller, it's what gets me killed most of the time.

I wouldnt mind some form of quicktravel from perhaps 2 locations, just so we don't have to run for 30 minutes to reach our destinations at times. Doing the prequest so to say for the DLC content sounds exhausting.

but.. wait.. there is quicktravel
Oh and about the dlc.. you kinda need to be somewhere between lvl 70 and 100.. maybe beat artorias for its armor and come back later, maybe before finishing the game.

as far as i know there is not. Only way i know of is to either have the current bonfire far away and go to the other side of the map and die so you get teleported all the way back, or use a homeward bone or whatever the name is. I guess that's not what you were thinking of though.

Does anyone else find the blue dragons in the Valley of Drakes to be the most glitched enemies ever?

I have never legitimately killed one. Sometimes they'll clip with a hill and fall through the map, disappearing. Other times they'll do their flying attack and fall off the cliff, giving me their souls. I can't keep one from killing itself long enough for me to kill it. I've gotten close once, but then it fell through the ground again. Are these guys notorious for being glitchy?

The first dragon I fought glitched INTO THE GROUND on the small hill near the tower you enter the area. He was at ~15% life... man that was annoying.

Still, they seem pretty easy to beat. Only problem is they have high HP and battle is bit boring. Or I may be using the wrong weapon...

He's a bit random, I got the perfect dodge the first time too. But got eaten by the dogs. The 2nd time I did exactly the same thing, but the dogs and him just cornered me and beat me into the ground. It's not so much him that is the problem, but the dogs can act a bit random when you enter. It is really those first seconds that makes or breaks the fight. But even if it's like 50/50 if things goes wrong, it's not that bad. It is the only place I felt the game was a bit out of my control though (I heard some one mention they made him easier in the first patch though?)

They definitely went overboard with the narrow ledges and fall-to-your-doom "challenges". Blighttown, Sen's, Anor Londo, New Londo, Giant Tomb, Crystal Caverns... sheesh. If I wanted to balance on ledges I'd play fucking Prince of Persia.

(still GOTY though xD)

Thing is, they actually went all the way to make you fall off ledges. Like, they put enemies on ledges to throw you down, archers to snipe you off ledges, sorcerers to pester you with lightning while you avoid huge moving blades on ledges. Not to mention the annoying Bed of Chaos fight, where the biggest challenge is to avoid being shoved off the floor. In my book these count as cheap deaths.
