Have you made sure to change the wiimote extension to "classic controller"? Or if it's a Gamecube game, make sure you have the emulator with a GC controller set in port 1

Yours looks little old from here, but you're close; you want to select "Emulated Wiimote" and then "Configure" On the next page, click the dropdown under "Extension" and choose "Classic" then hit configure. That's where the Wii controller will be assigned to your PS2 pad Smile

Yes.. but you still need to tell the Wiimote that a gamepad is "connected" -- haven't you ever used a real Wii console, bud? The gamepad connects to the Wiimote Smile

I guess the buttons you configured earlier are for the GCPad, right? At least now when you play Gamecube games the controls will already be set up Very Happy

Nope.jpg Reaction

My system is too slow for the game, drops to 20 fps on the first battle (the tutorial) and I cba to fiddle around with settings or read about them online right now.

It's all about the gigahertz. For constant smooth gameplay in Xenoblade you want 3.6Ghz-4Ghz --- and having a specific revision of Dolphin solely for XB is a good thing too; "r3.0-72 HLE Hack" I've seen people claim "perfect lolz no slowdown lolz with e6600 3ghz lolz" but they're full of shit. 3.6Ghz and above for smooth gameplay.

There's also a 60VPS patch that makes the PAL version run at 30fps (jut like the JP version) instead of the normal 25fps.

I'm planning my first ever HTPC and I plan to stuff it with some good oldskol gaming - ala NES, SNES, n64 roms and emulators. I was also thinking about PSX and I'm wondering - does anyone here has complete collection? I'm just interested in its size before I go squirreling the roms.

You're looking at a huge acquisition, depending on your region.

Sony - PlayStation (PAL) 20110814 (1948 out of 1961 in total, PAL/EU version ISOs, 538GB)
Sony - PlayStation (NTSC-US) 20110912 (1692 out of 1692 in total, NTSC-US version ISOs, 448GB)

Good luck! Very Happy

Sure, but why would you want to use anything else? MIJ is as close to perfect as you're going to get.

http://www.davieslim.com/ps3/using-ps3-controller-in-windows/

There's a bunch of opensource drivers and tools there .. I still say MIJ is the best you'll find.

yeah it was working great when it worked. i just had a series of minor problems with it that added up to a big 'fuck this'. it wont remember the settings, so it reverts back to a basic d-pad and face buttons until i open the MIJ options panel (just open it, no clicking anything), at which point windows beeps and loads the correct driver. installing MIJ also made my old xbox controller (via xbcd) vanish from the game controller panel. and to top it off, when i got bt working it was stuttering and pretty much unplayable (its fine on usb).

in total, i dont have the patience for it, after spending an hour or two last night and getting nowhere. thanks for the list of alternatives

You could try the drivers made by Sony that were found in the leaked ps3 sdk 3.41,
There signed and work great for me on pro evo with zero lag , no Bluetooth , also contains a tool which I never use.
I never tried motion joy so can't compare them.

are you using a sixaxis controller, or a dualshock 3? i grabbed the sdk and found the sixaxis.inf (and related files) and tried to manually install them. windows said it was not the driver for my hardware (ds3). did i miss something, or is there a newer driver somewhere?

edit - it seems there was some motioninjoy scraps left over. it is fine now. thanks

I use ds3 pads , I do have a weird problem on one of my systems where if I shut down windows after unplugging the ds3 windows hangs on the shutdown screen.
Doesn't happen on my htpc so probs just a problem with that one.
Also I have to configure the right stick in the pro evo settings first ,then they work perfect.
How are they compared to motion joy?

they are both the same, once they are working and in game...MIJ has rumble and bluetooth, but it also has the other issues i mentioned (even after trying the version sabin suggested). with the sdk drivers, windows always sees all the sticks/triggers/buttons with no need to do anything else.

the only snag i hit so far was trying to use it for darksouls and sleeping dogs via x360ce. i still have my xbox controller plugged in, and its seen as controller 1. darksouls can only see controller 1 no matter what you do. i ended up deleting the x360ce.ini file and when i restarted it, i skipped setting up the xbox controller. the ds3 is still controller 2, but it works in games now, so i just use that .ini for games that use x360ce that i want to use the ds3 with and the xbox controller still works everywhere else. they are at peace with eachother. i have yet to try it with any emulators, but i see no reason for it not to work at this point. cant wait to try it with that typex emulator/launcher Smile

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is really great. It's an adventure game though. I was able to finish it on DeSmuME with no problems, bar some minor slowdowns.

If you like "Ghost Trick" you should definitely check out "Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors" if you haven't played it. Works great in DeSmuME.

Yeah, I've heard a lot of positive things about that game. Guess I'm gonna try it soon then. Smile

How does everyone have the sensor bar setup for the dolphin emulator? I have a defunct TV remote I thought of rewiring the irled's.

I've read the last few pages, did read right that all speed hacks should be enabled in pcsx2? I'm playing dragon quest 8 and it drops to 15 fps at times.

This is what I use to get the Dual Shock 3 to work with pcsx2 64 bit windows:

1. I don't use my real Wiimote, I just emulate on the keyboard and mouse.

2. Everything should be ticked these days, they have almost no drawbacks. Just don't move the sliders to Cycle Stealing, leave them at default.

How functional is that? Is it troublesome with certain games?
