Actually, those extra's might come still only not with the first release. The income they get from selling the game to non-founders might sponsor dlc's or expansions.

I hope so. But then again, I guess it would be shitty of them if they didn't somehow give the players those extra goals.

What do you mean? Like for those who contributed with $1 for example?

Well not 1$ but 30-50$, I was just wondering will they have to buy the game so these guys can count on some extra funds.

I don't quite follow in what you're saying.
Everyone that pledged more than $20 (or even $15 in special cases), gets the game, so why would they re-buy it? Razz

Kickstarter is basically just buying games before they're made.

At a fraction it would cost at release date (or even pre-order).

doubt they will reach 1.8mln, its bit unclear to me what is galactic war supposed to be , a server? a game with random number of maps? ( not planets as there will be multiple planets per map ), or something else

For 150$ you get a 'string' in the game with your name Laughing sounds like a DLC by EA.

What I meant to say is you get a planet named after you, kinda cool I guess.

That would be the Galactic War (1.8mil Stretchgoal).

My understanding of the GW is more like playing a Risk on a galaxy-map and fighting out the single encounters in the classical RTS. Very nice for single and multiplayer.

Ding ding ding we have a winner.

And

Sorry, my fault. I just realized now that Galactic War does NOT mean having a system with multiple, nearby stars (which should be possible with the basic engine ), but more of a complete single / coop campaign which is actually meant to provide a long ongoing challenge with dozens to hundreds of skirmish battles and tons of scripted events, alien interactions etc. to provide an unique feeling to every mission / solar system.

Galactic War achieved and two other stretchgoals unlocked:
5th Stretch goal: $2,000,000 - Full Orchestral Score
6th Stretch goal: $2,100,000 - Planetary Documentary

Full Orchestral Score:
Quote:
The absolute best way to make a game soundtrack come alive and stand the test of time is to record it using live musicians. We will record the soundtrack for the game using the Northwest Sinfonia, the same orchestra that performed the soundtracks for Total Annihilation, Halo, and many Hollywood film scores.

A Planetary Documentary:
Quote:
And finally we would love to create a documentary about the creation of the game. See inside the studio and get your deepest game development questions answered. This comprehensive documentary will reveal our production process from concept to completion, including design and technical meetings, art conceptualization, music production, as well as community interaction.

I strongly disagree,Total Annihilation had one of the best sound track I ever heard in video games(IMO),this one is develop by some of the TA guys,2M seems reachable, especially they have at least 20/30K more with Paypal, the lest goal however,I don't think is that important, but ho well

Looks like an awesome game if you like MP (which i dont care much for).

I dont get how they claim it could get more SP focused if they got funded enough, none of the goals (which all seemed a bit "meh" tbh) was about SP, and they now have 2x of what they asked.. Whatever, will be a great game for the MP fans i'm sure. Seems insane that this game couldnt find a publisher, says a lot about the industry in its current state i guess :/
