Yeah, it recharges everytime you take down an enemy.
Just a stupid question about Purist mode (which everyone should be playing really, if you want the HUD the lowest you should go for is Expert)
How the hell am I going to know when the enemies start to recognize me and when I should run away or turn away from them with no HUD on?
Not only that, but what about the additional "actions" you could perform with Instinct to blend in more (like eating a doughnut as a policeman) , when on Purist mode there is NO Instinct?

If you look closely it never mentions whether instinct is missing in purist mode, so it might still be there.
I have mixed feelings about the HUD after re-watching gameplay videos.
The Map could be very useful for a 1st playthrough and also knowing which objects to interact with/pick up. On the other hand those icons are huge and ugly.
Maybe the score bar can be deactivated seperately..
Then there is the enemy indicator, which shows direction of enemy awareness.
I guess this will be missing in purist mode but there is also an audio warning. (increased tension)

The developers mentioned multiple times that Instinct is gone in Purist mode. Perhaps they rethought it and now it has a very limited use, like one bar per level with no ability to recharge it by knocking out enemies?

Well, it might be forced, but I do not plan to ever being seen, so perhaps you will be able to sneak your way out either way, this was impossible in Conviction.

Hitman: Absolution's difficulty settings don't just make things harder, it makes them different
Quote: | "One of the things I’m most proud of with difficulty is that when you increase difficulty we add additional characters and add patrol paths, which means the game changes a bit," Elverdam said.
For example, he said, a level might have a single person standing in a spot blocking your path on the normal setting. He’s isolated, so in the world of Hitman, the character is less of an obstacle and more of a resource. You can easily take him down, take his outfit as a disguise and stow his body.
On the hard setting the game might add a second guy standing with the first one, talking to him. Now you have to distract the buddy to take out the first guy.
On expert, the game might add a third person patrolling between the two guys you spotted first, and another two further through the mission. Because this new character is walking back and forth between the two sets of people, you have to be more careful with your take-downs, making sure that he doesn't spot you and that he doesn't see any signs of your kills when he returns, like pools of blood. |

Sounds nice, definitely an improvement to the old formula.

Well, expert sounds just like Hitman Codename 47 which I'm playing right now (except for the pool of blood which doesn't alert anyone)

It's just his skin, at least I don't see a stubble, just a very rough normal map used for face detail.

Haha well these days you never know
The "Aim and Camera" and "Hints and Instinct" options look useful too since you can't call yourself if you don't disable all the hints/derp indicators and autoaim/camera autocenter
