Actually, the quote says "more straightforward and more understandable". It appears to be related to the story of the game and how game mechanics are explained to the player.
Doesn't sound bad at all. If you wanted to get into Dark Souls, you almost had no other choice but to look up FAQs that explain the mechanics.

Apart from the bad porting (that got perfectly fixed by the community) I didn't enjoy DS as much as I would have. The atmosphere was great, as well as the rewarding combat system, but I've never been a fan of the "trial and error" mechanics.
I didn't even find it that hard (except for some bosses..arrgh), it's the repetitiveness that kinda killed my excitement. Hope they manage to improve these aspects.

I despised the first game. Only good thing it had was the challenging gameplay. Everything else was utter shoddiness. Especially the barren and bland atmosphere.
Don't know what to think of the new game. Hope it doesn't disgust me as much.

I will defend FROM to death, but I don't think it they were just "inexperienced" in porting games to PC. It is a factor, but I think the team actually working on the PC version is minimum and with limited time. With the announcement of DS2, it is clear most of the people are working on that instead of the port, then you add the rest of the devs working on other ongoing FROM projects, there isn't a whole lot of manpower left. I doubt Namco Bandai would provide funds to hire more ppl or able to persuade FROM to diverge more ppl to the porting.
Then again, some guy fix all the problems within the day of release. Maybe they should hire him lol.

Difference now though is they have the PC in mind the whole time while developing this game. Don't forget the original game was meant to only be a console game. I'm sure they'll do a better job this time.
I hope.

Dang, I thought Dark Souls had an incredible atmosphere, it was very melancholy and drenched in loneliness, a bit like Shadow of the Colossus. And I thought the game had some of the best level design in a game since maybe System Shock 2 or Deus Ex 1.

Yeeaaah! Screw those guys for making a AWESOME game and releasing it on multiple platforms! Screw those guys hard!
Seriously idk why anyone would hate FROM Software, why not troll someone who actually makes bad games like EA. |
I have stated my EXACT reason why i don't like them. They don't even go as far as to put a public thank you towards the modder for saving THEIR game.
Because it wouldn't had sold that many copies if the fix wasn't there, i can say that for a fact.
