Yep I played that one too. I agree LO was better, this one is good but much more accessible. I can't believe how long this game is, very nicely done. I've also read there are post-game quests. How does that work? Is it just roaming the world killing random monsters or is it more?

They are 'real' quests that show up in your Errands/Bounty hunt log.

He means real quests (or errands) as opposed to just killing monster at random after you finish the story.

Yeah it's a low budget game sadly (I assume it is).

anyone played the psn version? Heard there are no freezing issues there.
Installed the psn version, but it doesn't detect my save file from the duplex release. Any suggestions?

A couple of pages back someone posted a guide to convert the saves. I had no freezes with the PSN version.

Great production values? Music is minal, VA is almost non-existent after midgame, graphically it's OKish. I might be expecting too much for a console game though.

Lol, VA was minimal right from the start of the actual game (after getting to the fantasy world)

graphics are very good from an art perspective and all the music is orchestrated, i dont see how this is low budget considering most high budget games dont reach this level.

I was very disappointed with the music since it's extremely repetitive. Orchestrated or not is irrelevant if variety is minimal. Graphics are very static and low res, but that's just an opinion of course.

Yeah, the world map music got very annoying for me, not to mention the battle music.
Come on at least make 3-4 different ones and play it randomly.
Whats "VA"?
The hand drawn cinematics?
I invested around 38 hours into the game but I think the combat is "mindless chaos". During combat the only thing You can see about enemies is their star sign, which is almost useless. Not to mention that I cant seem to use any familiar effectively with the exepction of the default one that oliver has. I use it even after 38 hours. No matter what creature I try to use it "misses" every curse/poison etc. (90% of the time) and trying the "attack command" either casues a "miss" or 1 Hitpoint (or maybe 20 if im lucky) What Could be the problem?
They are geared up properly, and they are obviously not level 1.

Just look at how the monster looks, that's how you can determine its affinity. You can of course also catch the monster and check what it's weak against. The problems you are having with combat are probably stat related (is accuracy very low for example?). You can boost stats manually with treats (very useful when familiars are low level). Use the affnity of the characters for familiars (you'll get a 10% stat boost). Manage your party setup (familiar with very high accuracy, familiar with very high defense as tank, a healer). Just some simple examples.
Oh and never ditch Esther's first familar, it gets very powerful very fast.

Thanks for the tips!
I'm feeding the creatures frequently, and their accuracy is average (around the same as olivers default creature)
Still I find myself using that same creature over and over again. Esthers "duck" creature is only powerful using the Storm type attack.
BTW: Im at the part where I have to find the 3 Mornstar crystals (or smthg like that)
Im at the Glittering Grotto (going for the first part). How much left?

I've never used reactpasn and have no idea how to use it and i heard it's a tiny bit risky installing it, So i figured a plug and play version so to say would be more practical.

In the start i couldn't open the wizard companion at all, but then i installed that fix and it worked. The companion book initially showed kind of hollow and it closed. After installing the book worked, but when i reached perhaps at the end of the desert or when i reached the start of the area after the desert the same old problem happens now again as if i didn't even install it in the first place.
Edit: Ohh, and i did try to install it over again before posting about it, but it didn't help.
