screenshots don't look that good, nasty stairs effect on shadows for example, and that HDR/bloom effect looks kinda dated (reminds me of first games that introduced HDR). it will run like shit because it's arma, not because it looks good
That kind of not-so-good shadow rendering is like a trademark of the series . Hopefully bloom and other heavy post-processing effects can be disabled/reduced just like in Arma 2.
Also I do believe that those screens have been taken with completely wrong gamma settings, which make the game look more washed out than it actually is.

That was a critique my friend had for ARMA 2. He used to play Delta Force 2 a lot and that game used a voxel engine (yeahhh old school) so there was basically an infinite view distance and grass was rendered no matter where you looked. Like you say, he used grass as cover all the time in DF2, but trying out ARMA2, he was disappointed that grass was essentially superficial.
Also, my PC can barely run ARMA2, after watching the ARMA3 video, I'm not sure I'll even bother trying...

It already looks so good in alpha... like more polished than arma 1 and 2 on release (which is not saying much normally, but it's definitely out of the ordinary for BI)
Of course the devil is in the details so we'll see once everyone starts breaking it, but it looks promising at least.
So 25€ for alpha access with 3 invites, beta access and the full game as well?

Yeah it's a really big downside that they didn't think of fixing that in 3.. Lot's of people would love to use the grass for hiding, but whats the point if people with lower settings/from greater distance, can see you asif you are holding a bullseye up in the air for them >.<

Looking great but im not that interested in the MP or SP but i wants the DayZ!!!
DayZ is overrated and overhyped.
Also the main dev is teasing for about 6 months already and counting, + he missed he's own deadline which was December 2012.
