His point was that with the analog sticks, you have great control over how fast your character moves (ie use a light pressure on the sticks and the character inches forward) versus the binary nature of keyboards, which makes sense. A valid argument imo.

Started on darksiders 2, its fun! but I keep getting stuck on some white screen in the menu, apparently its a problem with people running over 100+ fps. Damnit!

Playing Bioshock for the first time. Reason I never played was: I never liked the setting. Bioshock 3 got released and that setting actually peaked my interest.
Girlfriend is a Bioshock fan so bought here a pre-order so I would get X-com. She didn't want 1&2 steam keys so I figured I give them a shot before playing 3 (Always have to play the predecessors somehow )
Well it was most annoying that the game crashed shit loads. So was almost giving up on it eventho I enjoyed it. But finally got it fixed and must say the setting doesn't bother me much (I prefer open worlds) and its loads of fun.
Always fun to still have great games in your backlog
And thank god I have something to escape the mediocre dead island (Pretty much playing it to just finish it, most of the game just annoys me ).

Just finished Darksiders 2, clocked in at 20 hours, and took me over 2 weeks to complete.
Great game, seriously. Platforming elements, awesome puzzles, nice combat system, decent story, and game-play was just too fun. I would highly recommend this to anyone.
Going to finish up Ep3 of Tyranny of King Washington and then I'm finally off to complete Far Cry 3 which I've delayed playing for far too long.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
(1st time..loving it so far)
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

| Interinactive wrote: | Gothic 1 and 2
I never played them through to the end before, mainly because one of my friends told me Gothic 2 was only '16 hours long'. That sort of put me off. Now that I'm about 30hrs into the 2nd game, I'm fairly certain he's never actually played it
Gothic 1 was really good though (I like it better than G2). I loved the whole setting and how much you got to know everyone. While G2 is pretty much on par with it, there doesn't seem to be anyone that you really progress through the story with (though I'm only in chapter 3).
I love being able to enjoy old games like this, because for me it allows me to realise I really do put an emphasis on gameplay over graphics, because they look effing terrible.
I also wish games like The Witcher would at least adopt this form of combat and skill progression. Multiple ways of striking and blocking along with skills that unlock as you learn, it's really rewarding, it genuinely feels like progression. | IT LIVES!
Welcome back, mate
Dead Island Riptide and FFV (SNES version ofc).

Dayem Inter, now you're really making me want to reinstall Gothic 1&2.. *must resist*
I need to clear that hideous huge backlog first, it's practically a mission impossible but hopefully I'll have more time in the next weeks. I'm finishing Mars War Log and Riptide at the moment, and then I'll go back to Dark Souls to finally clear those couple of nasty areas left. (without forgetting great time-eater games like Don't Starve and GameDev)
