But anyway, my opinions:

It's a medicore game. The same shit as Bioshock infinite. Nothing special so far. The beginning was boring as hell (I even felt asleep once after the 20 years later part Razz)
Not to mention the performance problems and some weird world geometry ("mapholes")

Right now I'm not gonna play it for a while since I had to restart from the start.

I like borderlands too, but I liked the uncharted series as well. From the screens I liked Last of us but this crafting/collecting thing is boring, not to mention the stealth vs. rambo gameplay. Far Cry 3 had the same mechanism (generally) and I played the shit out of it. I thought they come up with some brand new ideas.

Sure they added the ladder placing feature (Very Happy) when I came across the first one the tutorial popped up and it said that from a high ledge I can pull it up. I was like: okay, lets pull it up even if it's useless.....and I couldn't pull it up....

During one of the cutscenes. I usually tend to sleep on movies as well (sadly even in cinema)

Yea no kidding. If you have the energy to turn a game on, I'd imagine you should have the energy to at least stay awake. I can't think of a single cut scene in that game that I'd consider "Lemme get a quick snooze in - " territory: they are all either full of action, full of tension or full of awesome acting. . .both of which are sorely missing from games.

As far as map geometry, the ONLY glitch I had playing the game is when I feel through the world map, and spent 10 minutes trying to figure out why it kept happening:

It did happen 2x times I turned and some of the floor was missing for a half second or less but it was noticable.
But thats the least of my problems. My biggest "gamestopper" was the savegame bug.

FYI,

staying offline fixes the save bug, just in-case no-one has mentioned it.

I started the game with the patched version and it didn't fix the save issue.

took a little break and tried some multiplayer... man... I am not one to play console games online...ever....

This one was pretty fun, teams are small 4v4. You have a limited number of spawns per team, teamwork really shines here, sticking together and watching each others backs works.

Resources are scattered throughout the maps, and you can craft various melee weapons, bombs, shivs....etc

I love games where you are resource starved, and the multi-player seems to make it work well. You will find yourself buying clips of ammo, and weapon upgrades during matches to keep up with the game.

Very fun, will play more for sure.

2,5h in.. really great atmosphere! only a few things i dont really like 1) third person, would have loved to experience it from first person, its just so much more immersive and the game has plenty of levels in small spaces, third person sucks in those environments. theres plenty of cut scenes so you'd still see yourself, if thats important.. third person is great for platform games, this game doesnt even have jumping, it also comes at the cost of performance when the engine has to render your character at all times. 2) cant fall off heights, i hate when they do that, heights are not scary if you cant fall off, it takes away their very purpose. 3) aliasing and performance isnt that good.

The AI could be better. They detect me, they start to shoot at me, everyone on high alert etc.....then, from cover I throw out a brick/bottle and every enemy: "Hmm? What was that?" And they turn around Very Happy I laughed my ass off.

It does get better later on Smile
But still there are some annyoing issues:

framerate problems
Dumb AI

and don't know but I have the feeling that the game "cheats" a bit.
When You have to activate the 2nd generator in game (in a flooded bulding, seperated from ellie) They rush in basically from the generator room's two open doors. So I though I would run upstairs after activating the generator and wait for them to appear in the generator room, but nooooo they started coming from the 2nd floor then.

So far the game is really cool but it started a bit boring for me, now its better Smile

Really great game. Its extreme linearity is being compensated by great presentation and well-written story. Can't miss to mention the detailed environments as well which thoroughly add up to the overall delectable post-apocalyptic atmosphere. 10/10 goes a bit way off into the wild, 9/10 is where it stands more precisely. Definitely a game that shines above others, shame it'll never smell itself being on the PC. Sad

for me it's a 9.5/10, i wonder why they didn't do multiple endings, it could have worked perfectly in this game.

Not to mention those dark/night areas at the beginning. My god, it was a little too much for me. And the limited crafting/leveling ability. Its okay that the game wants to give you the features in little doses but in a world when every game comes down to crafting/leveling....
Not to mention that the game doesn't deliver anything new so far.

Sure, the game is a good game, but I do think that those "OMG" "10 out of 10" "masterpiece" is just because its naughty dog.

just curious, is there any game that you consider a masterpiece? some people just have unreal expectations, you might spend your entire life gaming and will never play a masterpiece.

The game gets better and better. It has a slow start but the build-up is very good IMO. It doesn't start all out and turn repetitive, unlike most games these days. These guys actually take the time to tell a story and build a gameworld. It's also one of the most challenging games I've played on this gen of consoles, bashing someone's head in with a brick never felt this good.
