I backed this today just because of the block physic. I remember that notch wanted to do this in minecraft but it never happened (and will not in the future most likely). So I gladly paid the 35$. So far it´s the only "Block Game" (apart from mc) that made me curious.
alpha is out for d/l... unfortunately you need to use a valid username/password to actually play it (from what it looks like) - if there was a way round that I would gladly share it

And the server you actually play on? Is it local?

not sure, but it asks for username/password on starting up - tried it with wrong combination.. it rejects it, so it must connect to their server ... I might try and set up a bogus forum account and try its username/pass
edit.. nope, on trying to log into the game it says I need to reg a key for that account (obviously to stop just anyone playing it) so short of handing out username/password, looks like its either buy or wait.
mini review - I know its an alpha and all that, but theres something amiss with it, its obviously going to get more polished and less *clunky* but the gun play in it feels..well.. limp. you have body awareness, which is nice, the completely destructible environments are good, too. in short I am enjoying it so far, but not sure if crafting is in it/how to craft if it IS in it..
edit, again.. tried to use my initial key with the *new* user I made.. "key already has been used" message

it will probably be same as Planteary annihilation - online only for alpha/beta and local will be available in full game - probably for easier bug reporting
EDIT: nvm. the main problem right now seems to be that the download doesn´t start anyway because they are upgrading their servers right now due heavy load.
I was builded my base on the roof top, but on the 5 day the building collapsed cause of the zombies. So i lost everything...
Anyway not bad for an alpha build
I really suggest everybody to hexedit your save for the first or second time you play because the devs deactivated the god and creative mode in this one. It´s just for testing and learning the game mechanics. In your savegame decimal offset 161 is the amount of the things in your upper left inventory place. So place cobblebricks there and replace it with FF. the second one is 167 iirc but don´t count on it^^
I built a fortress of cobblestone 3 layers thick and 5 layers high and give a fuck about the undead. just don´t forget to replace the destroyed block if the sun comes up
best place for a fortified position is the farm by the way. the corn there is enough for hundreds of ingame days. mix 2 corns to a meal and than mix the meal with water and you have corn bread. the city there holds enough water to drink and cook even for your grandchildrens
EDIT: savegame is in your gamefolder!

game's too easy = pointless for now
There's plenty of food and water and ammunition around.
Just place spikes on stairs, enter the bulding or get in the ground and you're safe.
The only thing that killed me were the spikes because I placed them under me
I always getting kicked out of the game after 2-3 minutes of playing... saying "out of memorie" - and this fucin console everytime pops up... THIS IS HORROR!! not the zombies.. lol
Gaming Blend has news that 7 Days to Die was pulled off Steam due to copyright infringement with some of it's art assets.
Earlier this week the open-world zombie game 7 Days To Die was pulled from Steam. Earlier today I spoke with the man responsible for the game's removal. Here's what I learned.
7 Days To Die's Steam Greenlight page was taken down due to a copyright violation. The takedown notice was filed on behalf of Tripwire Interactive, the developer of co-op shooter Killing Floor. As it turns out, 7 Days features a zombie that resembles a striking resemblance to the Clot, one of the monsters in Killing Floor.
Tom Buscaglia, the lawyer who filed the takedown notice, explained the sequence of events to me. It all started last year when someone took the Clot model from Killing Floor and began selling it on the Unity Store. 7 Days studio Fun Pimps, not realizing that this asset was stolen, purchased the model for use in their game.
Toward the end of the summer, Tripwire noticed the Clot model in a trailer for 7 Days. Vice president Alan Wilson reached out to Fun Pimps to explain that the asset belonged to them. Wilson apparently left the conversation with the understanding that Clot would be removed from 7 Days.
However, two weeks ago, Tripwire saw that the 7 Days trailer still had their character (Buscaglia attributes this to "flakiness" on Fun Pimps' part). What's more, a playable alpha build is now in the hands of players who backed the game. So, they called their lawyer.
They should have let them use that model in exchange for some recognition of their work (credits + readme + mention in trailers or something). But no... eh
game is not that bad.
what bugs me is that i cannot map the middle mouse key for Use and that i don't have access to the options menu, while ingame.
additionally, the punch range should be a bit less in my opinion.
considering that this is alpha, game is fine.
EDIT: and of course 2 minutes after i posted the above, i've encountered an annoying bug - once i open the inventory screen, i am unable to close it. the only option is to quit and reload. anyone else experiencing this? i'm using the x64 1.1 version.

changes middle mouse button to a different key, rebinds that key in game.
