I played for a hour or so. The battles are not that bad and they can be fun. But I don't like tho things so far - the game is unoptimized piece of shit, the visuals are nothing special and still the fps drops to 30-45 sometimes for really no apparent reason. The textures are shit, there's not much on the screen and the fps goes down... meanwhile I run Last Light maxed out perfectly fine. What a bull..
And the other thing I don't like is the "customization". You can recruit just men and the only thing you can change about their look is their heads and outfit colors. Thats it.. In Enemy Unknown the customization was way more deep compared to this shit. Also we are supposed to be soldiers fighting the aliens, why on earth we are dressed like we are going to wedding or prom or something?
Also I think the aliens' AI is somehow worse than in Enemy Unknown but I have to play more to tell for sure.

Tried it
Runs like shit and looks like shit
And it feels like shit - the controls are just plain HORRIBLE. Its writen console piece of shit all over it - the squad command menu is horribly bad and clunky.
Also the squad teammate AI is close to non existent..
Pretty much what i thought of the game before i isodemo-d it..

It surely shows , the visuals, animations and basic gameplay mechanics (apart from the "powers") are scarily similar to Mafia 2 judging from the videos and screenies.
Will try this as soon as my connection starts working again at full-speed, even if I know that I won't like this too much (not a fan of cover shooters)..but I am very curious after all.

Played through the first 2 missions - it's worth a resounding "meh".
The whole tactical interface is clunky as fuck, and having to micromanage my squadmates every 10 fucking seconds (seems they won't so much as fire at something unless I specifically tell them to), is a massive pain in my ass. Also, their path-finding leaves a lot to be desired.
Beyond that it's heavily scripted, with a shallow as hell conversation wheel, and nothing special on the graphical front. Cap it all off with the fact that it lacks any soul whatsoever, and you've got your typical "AAA marketed" game today.
Mostly worthless. It'll kill time till the real gem gets released today but will be quickly uninstalled afterwards.

*crosses fingers
Sounds like this game will be better if they focus on a good patch for performance/mechanics

I read somewhere there will be a day1 patch. Seeing as the release, at least for EU, is still 1-2 days away.
But only complaint i had during my 30min of playtime, was the not so good performance, in context to how it looks.
And the AI, that seemed to do nothing if not giving orders for everything.

Ai doing anything without orders is normal afaik. That's what I got from previews.

Thanks for the bandwidth you just saved me, though it was pretty obvious before release |
Yeah I tried this out today as well, obviously I wasn't a fan right from the start, but vacation and boredom won me over. 2 hours later after walking down linear paths cleverly masqueraded as military hangars, small city usa and corridors that can be anything from a hospital to a university.
Doing nothing but playing popamole all the time whilst babysitting the ai so that it knows where to stand next, probably ended up killing a few brain cells.
It's now uninstalled and I wouldn't even buy it if it was on sale for 1$

The game was running like shit with default settings, but I disabled screen space reflection in the advanced graphics settings and now it's running smoothly with 60 fps. Every other option is still on the highest available setting.

I gave up after 2 missions, it's just a dreadful cover based shooter with very clunky squad management and braindead teammates.

enjoying it so far it will need some serious patching though.
I just needed to get used to using hotkeys for squad management (must be clunky and pain in the ass to do it by mouse) .

I have a i7 2600k @ 4.5ghz and a single Geforce 780 GTX, it ran perfectly with everything on high. You do not need sli 780 to max it out.
