Could be, I guess your only option would be to either compile it yourself (maybe you could add those 3 lines to skse_1_9_32.dll instead) or wait and hope that when it gets implemented by ENB/SKSE, they don't use the steam_loader file.

I don't think this applies to my installation. I don't find the message in the log. The file skse_steam_loader.dll isn't even used it seems. Probably cause I'm using a cracked version that doesn't have steam running ?

I think Im the same.
No steam version of Skyrim.
And I see no log file?

It needs to be compiled for non-steam.

Wow, I really hope this patch works. I just love my (S.T.E.P. / RealVisonENB/ SkyRe) modded Skyrim right now, but the crashes every other hour really sucked.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Sounds like it's possible to do for the non-steam version as well:

Non-steam version:

Quote:
First of all, thanks for finding this out Sheson.

I piled up a, probably, universal patch for both steam and non-steam users. Test please.
Only two files - a modified skse_loader.exe and mempatch.dll based on the Tase's code.
Changes:
1) mempatch.dll moved to "\Data\SKSE\Plugins\", less stuff in the Skyrim's root folder is good
2) mempatch writes it's log into "\Data\SKSE\Plugins\mempatch.log", if you have this, then mempatch is, most definitely, working.
3) For Steam case a modified skse_steam_loader.dll will be used, logs go into "My Games\Skyrim\SKSE\skse_steam_loader.log" in this case. This one will read SKSE.ini settings too.

TEST THIS WITH VANILLA SKSE ONLY. NO OTHER SHESON PATCH VARIANTS SHOULD PRESENT.
Link: Mega

Don't forget to apply the recommended "Data\SKSE\SKSE.ini" edits:

Code:
[NotPlacebo]
GiveFirstBornToSheson=1
MemBlock1=512
MemBlock2=256

My mempatch.log looks like this:

Code:
Tase's Evil Non-Steam Memory Patcher... HUEHUEHUE... All credits to Sheson for this patch...
runtime root = O:\Skyrim\
config path = O:\Skyrim\Data\SKSE\skse.ini
Sheson took your first born in exchange for more memory
Set your first Memory Block to = 512
Set your second Memory Block to = 256

All credit goes to Sheson.

edit: file updated, a modified skse_steam_loader is included now, i could not find a way to make mempatch work with steam.

This is more recent, comes with the .ini already made - I'd probably use this:

Quote:

Here is a All Encompassing Patch, it works on Steam and Non-Steam, since there seems to be a bit of confusion :

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/22841244/skse%2Bmempatch%2Bsteampatch.rar

Drop in your Skyrim Folder, includes the SKSE.ini with 512/256 settings, ClearInvalidRegistrations and iTintTextureResolution.

If you're using Steam, you don't need mempatch.dll, if you're not using Steam, you don't need skse_steam_loader.dll

You can confirm it works by checking the SKSE logs and inspecting the allocated memory size in VMMap.

EDIT: Updated mempatch.dll to make it's own .log

Nah, it's totally free to grab and anyone can play it as long as they have a valid installation of BOTH Skyrim AND Morrowind Gold.

That's what I'm lookin for also, 1-click conversion, lol. Can't be assed fiddling with all the shit that most require you to do, tedious, time consuming nonsense, that 9/10 times results in your game being broken after doing all the hard work Razz

Just use only a few mods. You will need to use the SKSE probably. I suggest unofficial fixes mods, the unofficial texture fixes mod and Deadly Combat. And more blood.

The Sheson fix is now available on Nexus without having to mess with your SKSE files. Really improves the stability of the game for me. I havent had a CTD in hours and I use about 180 mods now.

The closest I know of any overhaul package was Texture Pack Combiner, but that was only for textures and hasn't been properly updated in a long time. Some members of the community have started to help but I would rather just do it myself at this point.

If you want something gameplay related, you kind of have to bite the bullet and do some legwork on your own. It really doesn't take that many mods to drastically improve the gameplay of Skyrim anyways. Deadly Combat + Apocalypse Spell Package would already make a significant difference.

Thx for the mem update Smile

Just wiped Skyrim LE from the disk and shoved a fresh untouched copy on.

So what manager is best to use? MO, Wyre or NMM? I'm leaning towards MO ATM.

MO by far. And you can then run Wrye Bash through it to make the bashed patch, that is the one functionality still unique to Wrye.

He was likely trying to sell some semi-useless crap, even without the perks stuff like glass armor would have at least some value. It's supposed to be hard in the beginning, but it can be adjusted if you want.

It is mentioned on the readme, though: "Merchants now will rip you off if you have no clue about bartering."
