Will watch it for Gilliam but it doesn't get any good reviews from critics.

I love most of Terry Gilliam stuff, especially 12 Monkeys, and this has such a 12 monkeys vibe.
Both 12M AND Brazil vibe IMO. Hmmmmmmmmmmm
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"

The trailer gives me City of the Lost Children vibes, a movie I couldn't stand for longer than 10 minutes. But this is Gilliam, he has never disappointed (somewhat ). Gonna watch tonight
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.
PS My all time favorite Gilliam's movie is Tideland - creepy dudes, creepy ladies, creepy little girls
tideland was wrong... about a sexually abused little girl going through the motions... felt uncomfortable throughout the whole movie. couldn't finish it.
Liked it, a lot. More than Tideland, it's more generally consistent and I like the (philosophical) questions it raises a lot more. Tideland is an emotionally very heavy movie (at least for me it was), just sadness throughout without a glimpse of hope or even humour.
The Zero Theorem is not as dark, although once it's over, you realise it's still very bleak. But the typical Gilliam jokes, like the mouses picking up the scraps or Management's camo-suits, are good to make it not too heavy.
The trailer doesn't do it justice (again). It's not a fast paced movie at all. The story behind is very universal, and the ending, although sad, is perfect. No one in Hollywood would dare to go that way these days.
When a Terry Gilliam movie gets bashed by the masses, I know it's a good movie. I remember watching Fear & Loathing in the theatre, and after 10 minutes in my friend and I were the only people left
Well, I watched it, and while I greatly enjoyed the visual style and overall tone, it was indeed a complete mind fuck just as expected. I'll give it another watch in a few weeks, but I'm doubtful I'll ever be able to wrap my head around it all. It's like one giant nightmare!
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

Goes better if you read da book first, really
Today I didn't even need to use my AK. I gotta say it was a good day. (c) - Ice Cube
Yep I agree, perfectly summarized. It's a very intriguing* movie that has several interesting ideas and developments (imo), as long as you don't expect another Brazil, because that one was a masterpiece
