-Once when I was playing Moh:spearhead I saw my friend empty a whole smg clip/mag/whatever into an enemy at point blank while the enemy was emptying his gun as well.
5 seconds later the enemy timed out tho.
Well then again, you've just not been on servers where there was a player with packet loss. Because what happens then is that you shoot and...nothing. And then half a second later he's in a completely different position and does hit you in the meantime. Happens in Quake and CS, because their netcodes are quite similar. Especially on public servers that was always quite common (and still is if you play QL).
Let me just put it this way;
Servers I used to join with the older games had a ping of 15-30, with BF4 it's 20-40.
And most players who joined back then didn't have a ping over 80 (no clue about their overall connection tho).
But I am not lying nor exaggerating when I say that I have not have had that happen what you just explained.

in neither clip there is a 2 second delay. So .. still waiting.
Add to that, that whoever made the first clip has to be a real moron lol. Example : when he says he got killed by p226 in 3-4 shots, yet he had to use 7.8 shots, he ignores a) the range (he was like 3 times further away) and b) the other guy shooting at him from the outside when he died.

As of now, if I could describe this game in one word it would be: inconsistent.
At least for what I mostly play, derpDM and comparing that directly with BC2, BF3 and... well, pretty much every other MP game that I've ever played for a while.

Death 1 = just under 2 seconds delay from when the player started shooting.
Death 2 = utterly insane, the only excuse for that would be like, playing with network smoothing on maximum or something
Death 3 = headshot... example of a good kill TBH.
I must admit, even if this game is rough as hell and always manages to get me angry for the wrongest reasons, it's still the only multiplayer shooter at the moment that has a certain appeal to me.
The fact that I'm used to playing under a fuckton of lag with my epic 3.8Mbit from 2004 probably softens my judgement a lot, and it might not be the l337 "competitive" shooter that they were sponsoring, but it's still a melting pot of variety and entertaining action when you don't feel the need to punch the monitor. It's perfect for some casual fun, without being too dumb (yes Doody, I'm looking at you)
Though it really pisses me off immensely that all the DICEA poeple don't give a damn about the most banal/easily fixable glitches, that's undeniable. I mean the obvious stuff that would require like the 1% of their time, but nope, they will simply ignore those just because they're busy repacking DLCs, promoting bullshits and show the finger to constructive criticism.
I started playing every day in feb to get a battlepack but realized I don't enjoy it at all so I stopped. I'll try again when second assault comes out. Something about BF4 though makes me simply hate playing it, and that hasn't happened with BF3 or BC2 before that
